3-Fer! Three Barn Finds For $3,750

collage

Somewhere in Southern Maryland (the seller doesn’t specify) these three recently unearthed barn finds are all being sold together. They are listed here on craigslist for $3,750 or best offer, although the seller also specifies that you can get the 1964 Ford Fairlane separately for $2,250. The other two vehicles are a 1971 Dodge Dart and a 1976 Chevrolet pickup, and all three come with clean titles.

3-1

The seller obviously feels that the Fairlane is the gem of the bunch, despite it being a four-door model. It currently doesn’t run, either. From the little bit we can see in these two pictures, it doesn’t look horribly rusty, although there’s no telling what it looks like from under the car. It would be nice to know if it’s a six-cylinder or V8 and what transmission is in the car as well.

3-5

The truck is a Camper Special but as you can see, there’s a fair bit of rust. Do you think that is original paint?

3-6

It doesn’t get much better on the inside, and I’m sure there’s a great story behind the blue passenger door.

3-4

Obviously a small block V8, but which one? Who knows. It’s good to know, however, that the truck runs and drives, unlike the other two finds here.

3-8

The dart is the car we see the least of in the pictures, and although I’m actually much more intrigued by the MGB beside it that is not listed as being for sale, I found myself wondering exactly how solid this car was. It looks like it’s been the least protected of the three. In a situation like this, I’ll bet cash talks, especially if you are interested in one or two of the vehicles rather than all three. Or take on the trio like I did last week (yes, I know, I’ll get them written up once I have pictures). Which one of these three appeals to you the most?

The Fairlane. & I see the “oh it’s a 4 door, it’s junk” ones are already running their mouths on the FB posts.

I like the Darts of that era, but would have to see the car to make an offer

The Fairlane has the V8 emblem on the fender. It could be either the 260 or 289CID as 1964 was a change-over year. The last digit does look like a zero, though. Or, it could be a transplant of another variety.

This is not a barn find so much as a white-trash starter kit for your yard.

First car I worked on was a 64 Fairlane 4 door with 200 6cyl in Guardsman Blue, our first family car when I was growing up. At some point it was just left sitting in the garage unused and waiting for a curious kid to take it apart, clean it up and get it running using parts from the JC Whittney catalog and the local auto parts store. That was 40 years ago…What fun that was. It really was a foundation of sorts–I eventually learned all about Fords and moved on and wanted a T-Bolt. Perhaps this Fairlane can get into the hands of another 14 year old.

Here’s $40, keep the change, ya filthy animal! …….What !!??! Thirty Seven Hundred and Fifty ??/!! Ha ha ha ha ho ho ha ha hee hee ha aaaa ohh haa haa hee hee hoo hooa (kind of that laugh the Joker has from Batman).

Not sure if 1 800-GOT-JUNK takes cars but I see this person paying to have this junk hauled away. I am a big resto fan, maybe strip them down for some decent useable parts (if any) and take the tax write off for the donation.

    Ok, I’m done.
