327/4 Speed: 1967 Chevrolet C20 Pickup

I know that we have many readers seeking an affordable project that they can tackle in a home workshop. If the vehicle in question also runs and drives, that is seen as a bonus. If you are one of those people, your search could be over. This 1967 Chevrolet C20 Pickup is a tidy classic where the restoration work has been commenced. Completing this should not be a difficult job, and making it more tempting is the fact that the engine bay is home to a healthy V8. Located in Clarkston, Washington, you will find the C20 listed for sale here on eBay. There is a BIN of $6,500, although the owner will listen to reasonable offers. Our ever-reliable Barn Finder Larry D has had his eyes peeled, so thank you, Larry, for spotting this one for us.

It appears that someone has commenced the restoration work on the Cardinal Red Pickup, and they have made it a priority to address the only rust in the vehicle. To this end, they have cut out and replaced the rockers, but these will need painting. The hood is in primer, but the rest of the vehicle wears its original paint. The panels are relatively straightforward for a workhorse of this age, with no significant dings or dents. The bed is a slightly different matter because while the steel looks respectable, the timber has rotted. However, that presents an opportunity for the buyer. While the replacement process is underway, the buyer might choose to repaint all of the steel. That way, once the new timber is in place, the bed should look stunning. The external trim looks like it could be restored, while there are no apparent problems with the glass.

The C20 features its numbers-matching 327ci V8 and 4-speed manual transmission. Making life more comfortable, the Pickup comes equipped with power steering and all-new power brakes. This small-block would have been pumping out around 220hp when it was new, but that figure could now be slightly higher. The engine has been fitted with an Edelbrock intake and carburetor, a CDI Ignition, and a set of headers. The improvements in breathing and spark delivery should have liberated a few extra ponies. This isn’t all about the show, because the seller says that the C20 runs and drives exceptionally well.

The Pickup’s interior is pretty tidy, and unless the buyer is a perfectionist, it doesn’t need much. The seat wears a relatively new cover, but this is the thing that I would change if I were to buy this classic. With the predominantly Red trim, the Black on the seat looks overpowering. I would probably invest $250 in a cover of the right color and pattern because I believe that it would make a world of difference. The rest of the trim, the dash, and the carpet all look good. There are a couple of cracks in the wheel, but these could be repaired. The interior isn’t dripping with luxury features, but the dash is home to an AM radio.

This 1967 Chevrolet C20 Pickup is an attractive proposition, especially at the BIN price. It is a project that the buyer could easily tackle in their home workshop, but it is what it offers that makes it fascinating. This is an original classic Pickup with no rust and a V8 under the hood. The fact that it has these attributes, is roadworthy, and it is being offered for sale for $6,500 would seem to make it a real bargain. I suspect that this one won’t last long, so you might need to be quick if you want it.

Thanks for the listing Adam and BF!
I saw this yesterday and jumped on it immediately. It fills the hole in my heart after selling my mint K20 2 days ago. This is the 2nd project I located through Barn Finds! The other is a 57 Beetle.
    Thanks!

What would it take for you to part with it?
I have a hopeless ’67 C20 292 CID straight six 4×4 project because I cannot find a good cab. The heater compartment, firewall, and front window frame are rusted to oblivion on the original. I can fix the floor and corners and fenders etc., but not the front of the cab.
