36k Mile 1987 Chevrolet C10 Silverado 1500

This 1987 Chevrolet C10 pickup is described as a genuine, low mileage survivor that has under 40,000 miles from new and is equipped with a healthy 350 with factory four wheel drive. The Chevy is a desirable single cab, short bed model and it looks sharp wearing red paint with a black interior. The seller notes he drove it from Kentucky to Colorado without issue, and that the truck has zero leaks and no rust. The bed looks quite nice as well, and aside from some paint blemishes on the cab roof, there’s not much here not to like. Find the Chevy here on eBay to just under $12,600 with the reserve unmet.

While I don’t think about it too often, the color scheme on this generation of the C10 almost always features a maroon or tan interior – black doesn’t show up all that often. The exterior shows some signs of having sat outside for a spell, but the interior doesn’t look like it’s seen much in the way of relentless sun exposure. The Chevy features crank windows and original details throughout, from the floor mat to the factory radio. The seller doesn’t mention air conditioning, which doesn’t mean it’s not there, but it’s typically a detail you’d mention if it did. The dash doesn’t appear to be cracked and the seat upholstery looks near perfect, which lends strong credibility to the low mileage claims.

The seller says the odometer reading is backed up by the paper trail, with the title indicating it to be accurate. Other features that this C10 left the factory with includes dual fuel tanks with working gauges for each tank, and the seller claims the only item not working to 100 percent capacity is the oil temperature gauge that is intermittent at best. The body looks laser straight going down the sides, and the Chevy rides on rally wheels with meaty tires that look nearly new. The C10 will come with an assortment of original paperwork, from the build sheet to maintenance records, but the seller doesn’t spell out how detailed those are.

But with a 350 TBI under the hood, there’s likely not much to worry about. These were stout powertrains and should be good for another 100,000 miles with only basic maintenance. When it comes to C10s, we all like the survivors, but this truck just screams honesty. It was used, clearly, but not to the point of exhaustion; by the same token, it wasn’t kept locked up as a potential investment, either, which would be driving a much higher bid price at the moment. This one is a (potentially) smart buy to clean up and keep the miles low on while not being afraid to use it, assuming the reserve price isn’t unrealistic. I think $15K should buy it – what about you?

      Yes! That’s right…GM changed the C/K (2WD/4WD) designation to R/V on 1987. So, this is a V10. Even the VIN should have a V in it.

        Love the long bed. I use these trucks…sparingly, and less than 1000 miles a year. It performed teriffic when we had a storm. All those downed limbs went in the bed – carefully.

      Yep. I see the transfer case shifter on the tyranny hump too. Definitely a K10.

    Single cab pickup values are going to go through the roof, especially from the 80s on back. This truck would be a good “pick-up” even if it’s truly a K10.

      The money from enthusiasts is and always will flow towards standard cab short beds. Generally long beds are a second choice when people can’t find or don’t want to spend the premium to get a short bed. These older trucks will not be used for work, when used to haul things the short bed will suffice in almost any circumstance.

    I have a 93k2500 305 5 speed reg cab long box 80000 k no rust what so ever I think I’m gonna let it go pretty soon probably post it here….

    currently 15,200 and reserve not met. Also now notes A/C is 134 and blows cold. my guess is reserve is $25k as these low mileage ones bring strong dollars.
