This 1987 Chevrolet Silverado Pick Up is certified to have only 38,687 miles since new. It was a one owner truck until the current seller bought it. As most of you know, the 1987 Chevrolet and GMC half ton pickup was the last year of the square body and the only year for fuel injection and four speed automatic transmission. This truck is located and Altoona, Iowa and has Arizona license plates on it. The truck can be seen here on eBay and is currently bid to $35,100 after 100 bids. There are 2 days remaining in the auction.
The truck is said to still remain in factory condition the engine compartment has been detailed. This truck is equipped with the Chevrolet 350 cubic inch V8 engine with throttle body feel injection. The factory horsepower rating was approximately 175 horsepower in 1987. The truck is said to drive like new and has been well maintained during its storage. The seller states that the truck has only had 7,000 miles put on it since 1992.
The interior looks fresh and showroom except for the aftermarket floor mats. There are no cracks in the dash or fading and the seat or carpet. The truck comes with some documentation including the original owners manual which is in the glove box. The seller has put a new tire on the spare that mounts underneath the bed of the truck. The eBay ad has a number of clear pictures from many different angles that can be examined online. The air conditioner has been converted to 134A.
The bed of the truck looks like nothing has ever been put in it and it has never had a bed liner. Truck has its original two tone paint and all glass is in good condition. The seller has installed a new fuel pump, belts, hoses, battery, plugs and wires. The truck also has new Goodyear tires and the brake system has been rebuilt. The 4×4 gears have been serviced recently. This looks like a turn key truck that is bringing big money.
That’s a lot of cash for a 33 year old truck. Not low enough miles for a museum piece and too few to feel good about knocking about on the trails around the southwest. Also, it looks like the undercarriage was shot with a load of black paint. Why freshen the bottom part of the paint? Personally, with this many miles, I’d rather purchase with the rock chips and surface rust that are genuine rather than touched up for a set of not-so-good Ebay pics.
Just the truck I’m looking for, not for 35 large though. Had an 87 Long box 4×4, I miss it.
Low blow, Motorcraft battery in a Chevrolet. Painted over undercarriages on “low” mileage vehicles steer me away.
Another great truck find on BF. I do love this truck, but if it’s as genuine as the listing says, it’s almost too nice. Cool to see a slick square body anyway.
Wish this truck was in my driveway.
I have an 86 Silverado, all original, from the desert in Cali. I’ve had it 6 years and its NOT anywhere in the shape of this truck. That said, I get chased down regularly and offered crazy money for it because its rust free, and you dont find those in Nova Scotia…. I’m about to take the engine out and rebuild it, and do paint and interior. Probably be 20k to do it right and make all the options work, add remote locks and heated seat. Still I’ll be in less than half of a stripped down new truck, and I’ll have a “new” square body.
