454 Big Block! 1985 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

This 1985 Chevrolet truck isn’t your ordinary 80s square-body! It features a crew cab to haul you and five friends comfortably along with plenty of power from the 454 cubic inch big block! It can be found here on Craigslist with an asking price of $9,950. Located in Lafayette, New York, the ad says the truck was a “barn find” in the town of Skaneateles, New York. Let’s take a look at this big truck and thanks to Roger for the tip on this crew cab.

The interior could use a little freshening up, but it doesn’t look bad. Just some cleaning and TLC will do wonders to make it very nice. The upholstery is fabric and not only does the front seat look good, but the rear seat also looks like it’s in great shape. The ad says the truck has about 67,000 miles on the odometer, and there have been new wheels installed.

Here you can see just how long this truck is. Not only does the crew cab add length, but the truck also features a long-box! Unfortunately, there are no photos of the engine compartment in the ad, but as mentioned before, it is a 454 cubic inch V8. While not as potent as some other 454’s, these trucks make great workhorses. Whether they are hauling a trailer, a load of firewood, or just working around a ranch, they can get it done in comfort.

Overall, based on the limited photos in the ad, this truck hasn’t been overworked or abused. It looks like a clean and original survivor. If you’ve been looking for a classic truck to do some hauling with plenty of passenger space, this might be the perfect one. How about you? What do you think of long box crew cab trucks?

8 miles per gallon, if you are a careful driver. Close friend had an ’84 like this, 454, 1-ton, 4-doors. I borrowed it a few times when I had to tow something. Pulls anything, but at highway speeds, you can actually see that gas gauge needle slowly moving down.

Will pass anything hauling a 10,000lb trailer but a gas station.

Wonder how this escaped the NY state ironworms? Nice truck would make a good tow vehicle, and for 9950 would be cheaper than an 80 grand yuppie truck. Might be a tad on the high side, but if its for you look it over good. it is 35 years old. Pics of the mill would be nice. Good luck and stay safe.

This is a nice truck. Special ordered for a family no doubt as a base model with a crew would be a roadwork or construction rig. Wonder if it has a 5th wheel in the bed. Of course it could have been a old bumper pull trailer they used to travel. Been well kept in a barn out of harm from the salty winters of that area.
