49k Mile 1969 Corvette Survivor

1969 Corvette Coupe

I’m not a Corvette expert, nor have I ever claimed to be, but looking at this ’69 I’m not sure if it really is an all original survivor. It looks to be in amazing shape and the seller claims it runs and drives great. Looking it over, it looks nice enough to only have 49k miles, but that paint just looks off to me. It looks like a respray with some orange peel. It could just be the photography, as I doubt it would have looked that way from the factory. I will let the Corvette experts out there weigh in on that though. Even if it isn’t really a low mileage survivor, this looks like a very nice Corvette and would be a great weekend driver, especially with the 380 horse 350 and 4 speed! If you’d like to take a closer look at it for yourself, you can find it here on eBay in Matthews, North Carolina with a current bid of $22,000!

I don’t know. It’s just too clean to be a survivor. The seats look new to me and the underside of the car looks too clean.

The quality of GM this year was the worst, Worst paint and fit etc. which This car’s paint is exemplary of that, but no front headlight valance shrinkage and the bonding strip condition say a shoddy repaint from maybe 20 years ago. You can see unpainted primer under the wheel lips.

it is a nice Vette but the intake should be aluminum, and I am not sure the Lt-1 was offered for 69? I am thinking it is a 300 horse 350.

      They had a 300 and 350 horse optioned 350cu. Never heard of a 380 horse 350cu.

No LT1 in ’69. LT1’s had aluminum intake with a Holley carb. This looks like a 350/350 L-46, cast iron intake and Quadrajet. I thought L-46’s in ’69 had aluminum radiators with metal fan shrouds, though.

I see nothing about this car as listed in the ad as being a survivor. The definition has been debated many times here. She could be. Mix an MB tech with a Corvette guy and I can see this rig staying this nice. I own a 1972 with original paint and interior but a rebuilt numbers engine. Survivor? You decide, I really do not give a rats tail. She is in very nice shape to this day. I am not one of those Corvette guys, and living at the end of a half mile gravel lane its hard to keep anything clean. 1968 was the worst year for steel bumper car build quality and it shows on resale. About 5K less than a 1969. I agree with 68 custom, LT-1 first offered in 1970. This is a great car and could sell for double the current bid. Who ever gets this rig I hope they keep up the driving tradition the PO did.

Looks like a very nice driver! @ 68 Custom, that is a regular issue 350 hp L46 engine (iron intake is stock). @Josh, no where in the auction listing does it say “survivor”, this car has been clearly restored at some point (look at the under floor foil insulation – it is new). Well worth the current bid in my option. The only thing keeping this car from going higher is it is a base car with no PB, PS or AC, and the low quality of the repaint.

wow I stand corrected, I had no idea any hipo SBC prior to 71 or 72 featured a Qjet and cast iron intake. wonder what size intake valves were in the heads 1.94 or 2.02? I am guessing 1.94. learned something new today!

He has 5 positive feedback as seller they are just more than a year old. Those 5 items appear to be automobiles and motorcycles, so high dollar items.

The rear quarters on both sides look as if they’ve been resprayed, which might mean a rear ender in the past.

I missed the part where the SELLER calls it a “Survivor”, I once owned a ’70 Corvette Convertible 350-350, it was a very good running car as I expect most were, never any complaints about that. This car is an apparently well taken care of car, nothing more , nothing less , some people need to lose their negativity. PICKY-PICKY-PICKY !

      The small blocks were 350-300 , 350-350 hp , both cast iron intakes , 300 hp – 194 , 350 hp- 202 intake valve size , exhaust same size both heads , same casting # both heads 186 .

“Straight as an arrow, stops on a dime, tiptop.” Can anyone ad any more worn out cliches to describe this car?
