90s Show Truck: 40K-Mile 1992 Ford F150

One of my guilty pleasures is 1990s show cars and trucks. Whether it was a lowrider Impala built for southern California or a Porsche 911 with fat fender flares and staggered BBS wheels, the early 90s represented some of my favorite years for custom car culture. This 1992 Ford F150 is decked out in every which way possible to set it apart from the crowd, starting with its gorgeous teal paint and pearl ghost flames. The list of modifications is quite extensive, with the custom bed treatment my favorite feature. The F150 also has just 40K original miles and is listed here on craigslist for $20,000 in Massachusetts.

Now, this may seem slightly garish by today’s standards, but rolling up to the car show with Corvette taillights installed in your rear bumper made you king of the hill in short order back in the 90s. This Ford F150 also comes with the flareside bed that has effectively enabled the rest of the modifications along the rear of the truck with its wild contours and shapes, including the custom bumper and rear valence; tonneau cover with an integrated rear spoiler from a Fox body Mustang; and what looks like plenty of body smoothing. The truck is obviously lowered as well but that’s honestly one of the more mundane changes from its original condition.

Interestingly, the seller claims this Ford was sponsored by Bell Tech and Billet Specialties back in the day, which would explain the generous assortment of parts from both companies installed on the truck. As I mentioned, I love the bed treatment. This is just peak 90s customization to go so far as to upholster the bed to match the interior! You can barely see it, but there’s also an epic stereo system buried in the bottom of the front of the bed, which is a must if you’re going to drive anything from the 90s sport truck scene. The seller mentions it was also a regular fixture at multiple “…off-shore boat shows” as well as the annual SEMA show in 1992-1993. Can’t you just see this thing staged with a matching teal speed boat behind it?

The modifications were seemingly limited to the cosmetic sort with no mention of any performance upgrades under the hood. The Ford was also modified with everything the Bell Tech catalog had to offer at the time, including a Bell Tech drop kit featuring a flipped rear axle with airbags; a Bell Tech front bumper with GT500 fog lamps; and a Bell Tech roll pan and side skirts. In addition, Billet Specialties kicked in a grill and step plates. For rolling stock, it was built with staggered Boyd Coddington wheels, which rounds out the list of must-have 90s aftermarket truck equipment.

Why Craigslist? Price seams kinda low I think the seller would get more money faster if they posted it here on barn finds or some other auction sites
