During the 1980s, Dodge was all about badge engineering. This one might be a Mitsubishi with a Dodge badge, but this 1984 Conquest Turbo sure has fun for its time written all over it. The seller would like $4,995 but would prefer to trade, which is a huge price drop since we featured it back in 2017. You can read Jeff L’s post about it here. It has 61,000 miles and a clean title. Thank you, Ikey H, for the tip. You can take a closer look at it here on craigslist and it’s located in Abbeville, Louisiana.

Based on the title, you can guess that probably the coolest part of this car is what is powering it. A four-cylinder turbocharged engine sends power to a five-speed manual transmission. The seller has noted that new tires, brakes, brake pads, calipers, and u-joints have all been newly installed, along with new fluids. It does have power steering and power brakes. This car is begging to be driven spiritedly.

Inside, it is equipped with leather. The car does have air conditioning for those hot summer days. But if you want to roll with the windows down, you can do so with the push of a button thanks to the power windows. It also has power locks. Considering this car could have been one of four brands, this specific car with the Dodge logo really does conjure up 80’s vibes and almost makes you feel proud. The seller notes the car is a show winning car.

As mentioned before, the seller is interested in trading, but not for something that you might think. They are interested in a 4×4 tractor. While a Porsche or Lamborghini tractor might be cool, it might not be an even trade. I’m sure they are keen on a Case, John Deere, or Kubota if it’s an even trade in value. Either way, this car would be a nice ride to own. I think I’d be more inclined to just give them the cash though.

This is a bargain. We had three Starquests in the family — great cars if you could keep the fuel system from leaking and the turbo oil line from coking up!

Rare to see a narrow-body Conquest these days. Personally, I prefer the more aggressive “peak-80’s” style of the wide-body cars, but this particular car seems to be quite the find.

I never saw one of these without the fender flares untill recently. Imho it looks just as good like this. What an awesome 80s car.

When I see an early Starion I think Jackie Chan in the Cannonball Run.

Bought one of the first conquests when I lived in Brooklyn. I bought from a Plymouth dealer in 1984 for 10 grand and it was a show stopper. All black, all leather, 5 speed and it could fly right out of the box. It was a difficult car to maintain due the turbos and high maintenance. Finally just gave up on it and left it with a mechanic for work done. No matter what I just loved this car and how it turned heads.
