It appears we are being invaded by strange little British roadsters. When we found the yellow Arkley that we featured yesterday we were surprised to see one of these unique re-bodied Sprites, because of their rarity. When we discovered this blue ’67 Arkley SS on eBay today we couldn’t help but wonder if it’s an invasion of rare re-bodied British roadsters.
This Arkley is partway through a restoration and has already had most of the hard work done. It has a freshly rebuilt 1275 engine and a rebuilt rib cage transmission and both were done by a professional shop. However, it still needs some work before it will run.
The engine looks really nice, but there is still a lot of assembly to be finished before it will run. We would probably take it into our mechanic and have him finish the install. This 1275 should give this car some punch and we think this car would make a great little weekend racer or track day car.
This car’s interior has already been gutted out, so it wouldn’t take much to get it ready for racing. The floors look good and rust free, so getting this car put back together shouldn’t be a massive task.
The fiberglass looks to be in great shape and looks very straight. It appears that the gaps on this car line up as they should. As nice as the body is on this car we are worried the seller has set the reserve too high for this car, but we will keep an eye on it as it might end up being a better deal than the other Arkley.
I have one of these arkleys. Any idea if the other 2 sold? Mine is green, 1969.
Lisa g, I own your green Arkley now. Do you know its history?
