Barn Dragster: 1967 Ford Mustang

It appears that someone started building this 1967 Ford Mustang for drag racing, but was never able to finish it and it ended up parked in this Ottawa, Canada barn for many years. Special thanks to reader Gord L for tipping us off to this barn dragster. Find it here on Kijiji, with an asking price of $3,000.

The seller’s pictures aren’t the best so it is difficult to tell what all has been done to this Pony car. From what I can tell, the body has been extensively modified, to the point it would be about impossible to return it to original. The engine and transmission aren’t with the car anymore, but that should be the least of a buyer’s concerns. If the modifications were performed correctly, this could make for a great starting point for a drag car though. What power-plant would you drop under that hood scoop?

    The hood scoop is a bit small

    This seems like it’s being billed as a “long lost” racer. I’d guess it was “converted” in the late 80’s, maybe early 90’s? Late model Mustang alloys on the rear might be a giveaway too.

    I’d pull it out of the garage, wash it off, make sure it’s safe and drive it in Pro Street from just as it is.

    Personally if I bought this I would ditch the scoop and put a blower on top of the power plant I chose to replace it.

    It’s savable. Looking at the pictures on the other site, the rear quarters were cut, wheel tubs are in, this thing cries for a small block. 351c-4v, or a newer 351 crate motor. Ford Motorsport makes a 351 based 427…
    Someone just needs the funds, and be willing to do the work.
