In the early 1980s, the seller of this 1967 Dodge Coronet 500 was on the hunt for a well-cared-for, dependable used car for his soon-to-be driving-age children to use. Well, he ended up finding this Coronet, and it was everything he was looking for, so he ended up finding a different car for them and bought this one to be his baby! He’s kept it in immaculate condition over the past 40+ years, but it’s time to find a new home for this Mopar, so he’s offering it here as a Barn Finds Auction. It’s located in Woodland Hills, Utah.

The seller purchased the car in Provo, Utah, from the original owner’s daughter, who had inherited it after her parents passed away. They had taken good care of the car and put minimal miles on it. During the seller’s ownership, it has been maintained and treated to cosmetic repairs as needed. As you can see, it’s in lovely condition throughout.

The fifth-generation Coronet was Dodge’s intermediate-sized offering and could be optioned as a budget-friendly cruiser or a performance-oriented R/T and just about anything in between. The 500 trim was the top-of-the-line offering and came standard with front bucket seats, a center console, and vinyl upholstery. Over the years, things like the carpet and seat upholstery were replaced to keep it looking its best. The seller notes that the white vinyl top is original and it looks great.

Dodge offered a range of engine options in the Coronet. This one received the 383 V8 with 4-barrel carburetor and is paired to a 3-speed Torqueflite automatic transmission. The seller states that it starts, runs, and drives very well, but they do note that it recently developed a small oil leak and leaves a few drips of oil on the floor. It also could use a new fuel filler neck, as the current one is cracked.

This is the kind of find that we love to come across! It’s been well cared for since new and presents nicely, but it’s something you can drive and enjoy. This one will likely be hard for the seller to let go of, but they want to see it go to a good home with someone who can continue to care for and drive it. If that person is you, cast your high bid below. And feel free to leave any questions you have in the comment section below. Also, be sure to take a closer look at the professional photos and videos of it below (full-size photos can be viewed here).

Nice Mopar. Love the Coronet. Tidy up the hopefully minor oil leak, add a dual exhaust and cruise. 👍
Wow very clean Mopar especially the interior which is hard to keep it.That way! It has 383-2 with single exhaust. Change it to dual exhaust and get repop GTX exhaust tips. I would put a 4 bbl on it. A nice Edelbrock street, dominator intake manifold. One more thing. Get AC installed. Go to drive in movie with the wife ice cream shops and have fun. I wish I knew his buy it now price. Good luck to the next owner. 🐻🇺🇸
They said it had a 325 horse 383 with a 4 barrel carb already, or did I miss something?
I agree, I thought that the 383-325 was the basic Road Runner engine.
I’m pretty sure the 383 4 bbl cars had the 383 emblem on the front fender and lesser ones had the V8 emblem like this one.
I have seen and inspected this car in person last year and it is truly a beautiful car and should bring all the money. Not only is it rare to find in this condition, but the colors really make the package. Any new owner would be proud to have this in their collection!
Good looking Dodge before they got all ugly in the seventies. Nice, clean lines. Agree it needs AC and an audio upgrade too. Go fast bolt on parts like Big Bear says.
Love this color! Looks like the one the turbines were painted in.
Yep…my 67 Plymouth’s color is Turbine Bronze and my buddies 67 Dodge 500 is this color too but they call it something else…..one reason I bought the one I have and the 4speed and factory A/C and…..
Lovely ride. I’ve always loved the 1966-67 Dodge Coronet. My favourite is the Coronet 500.
I own one that’s on the chopping block for restoration, this one is inspiring, same color and engine. Good luck seller hope it brings all the $.
what a sweet ride. excellent color combo. wonder if there is any o/e paperwork for it. ahh the wonderful 60s
Took me years to appreciate these ‘66-67 Mopars. This one is particularly classy in the bronze/white combo. Rare to see one not run through the wringer and turned into something it wasn’t. Kind of a bummer about no AC and that they didn’t take any pics of the headlights hidden. Still a real looker!
These don’t have hide away headlights….only the Chargers did….
I built a model kit of the Coronet and used the hidden headlights grille from the Charger kit. Both Revell, perfect fit!
Thank you Jasper………no hidden headlights on this one/
I’m just looking back at this auction now and am a bit surprised by the result! I see there was a reserve however, so hopefully you’re content with the result. But, I really expected more, which is why I tuned out from it and didn’t bother bidding.
This is also a rare instance where an auction here was presented really well between photos and video, so kudos for that. It seems like such a great car. Nothing against the buyer, but I hope the deal falls through so you can list it again!
A really beautiful looking Coronet in a beautiful color to match. I’d fix the few items that are needed and keep it just the way it is.
I wonder what it might cost to have vintage air installed in this thing . Such a nice plus ride here !
@Jasper-I’m not certain that this car was even equipped with concealed headlights originally…
Coronets never had concealed headlights.
One of the best Mopars I have ever seen on here. Easy to see why the 2nd owner singled this one out as special when this was just an old used car. And glad he did, looks like you could not have asked for a better caretaker!
My favorite 60s Mopar color w/ white – wow(!)
I’m the consummate hot rodder but this is the car you leave alone – 383 2bbl. is a wonderful power plant, tune perfectly-done. Leave the single exhaust, it’s just fine. Believe it or not, most cars were quiet back in the day, I’ll leave 20 hp on the table on the top end to have a comfortable, quiet cruiser.
Have a change, only two things for Personal taste: reinstall the factory steel wheels and find a set of rare and expensive mag style hubcaps that were an option in ‘67. Install AC with compressor mount of my own design to keep it hidden.
Someone is going to get a real gem here…..
I like Mopar products from the late ’60s, and especially their large size brake pedals, as I always brake (automatic models) with the left foot, because of muscle pain in my left leg if not used at all.
But presently the automatic cars have so tiny almost square brake pedals that causes a certain effort in torsioning my left leg to the right in order to reach the brake pedal.
This way, I solved the question returning to a 5-speed manual transmission car and everything became OK again.
Nice, Parents had one 318 in orange, with black top, then Buffalo N.Y Rust. did my road test at age18, only if could do the $$ would be in the garage next to my 1976 Buick free spirit pace car replica.
That’s a 2bbl 290hp car. I had 67′ 500 badge said 383/4bbl not v8. Still very nice car.
Oh, wow, I wish I had seen this sooner. This Coronet 500 is a near-twin of my first, highly beloved car, which I bought when I was 15 (though my parents wouldn’t let me drive it on the street before I turned 16). Only differences are the vinyl roof (my car was Turbine Bronze all over) and the center console (I had the center cushion with folding armrest). Of course I put it in a ditch a couple of months after I got it, teaching a valuable lesson about driver distraction, but fixed it up and continued to drive it for five years. My first love, and my heart still skips a beat whenever I see a ’67 Coronet at a car show.
We are super close guys! The next bid will remove the reserve.
Beautiful Coronet, somebody got a great deal.
