If you’re in the market for a clean, rust-free diesel workhorse with proven reliability, this 1993 Ford F-250 might be your next long-haul partner. With just 116,500 miles on the odometer, this truck is barely broken in by 7.3 IDI standards. It’s being offered for sale by an enthusiastic owner who claims he’d sell it to a friend with confidence—and that says a lot about the condition and trustworthiness of this rig. Located in Blaine, Washington—just a stone’s throw from the Canadian border—you can check out this well-kept Ford and place your bid here on Barn Finds Auctions.

Nicknamed “Big Daddy,” this two-wheel-drive F-250 is powered by the legendary 7.3-liter IDI turbo diesel engine, paired to a smooth-shifting automatic transmission. The seller says it fires up reliably, doesn’t burn oil, doesn’t smoke, and pulls strong. The transmission is described as “smooth and on time,” and the drivetrain as ready to cross the continent.

The body is rust-free, and while there’s some minor surface corrosion on the undercarriage—as shown in the photos—it’s in excellent condition for a 30-year-old pickup. The seller also notes that it gets plenty of attention from OBS (Old Body Style) Ford fans, especially since he recently repainted the sun-faded panels and replaced the tires.

Interior-wise, the cloth bench seat shows wear on the driver’s side, but the owner has protected it with a heavy-duty cover (included with the truck). Otherwise, the interior looks quite good for its age. Mechanically, the seller has invested significantly in keeping the truck in peak shape, including new injectors, glow plugs, a new high-pressure fuel pump, and fresh tires—all within the last year. Receipts totaling $5,000 are available.

Though it’s currently registered in British Columbia, the truck is stored in Blaine, WA, just 10 miles from the border. The seller offers assistance with the import process and notes that it’s a relatively simple procedure depending on your state’s DMV requirements. The odometer is in kilometers, so that will take some getting used to.

Ready to haul, tow, or simply be admired, this square-body diesel Ford has a lot of life left to give. Would you put Big Daddy back to work—or just enjoy cruising it to diesel shows?

$5000 in recent maintenance but ignored a worn out wiper for so long it scratched grooves into the windshield making it fail a safety inspection

The good ol’ days! Fords with 6.9s and 7.3s were like flies on a dead horse out west. Our shop always had at least one of them in getting worked on. Good trucks.

Kind of a tragedy with some customers; something would go wrong with the injection pump (usually a worn out advance piston) and they would bypass us and head over to the local salvage yard. They would inevitably buy a used pump off an early 6.9; find out that it wasn’t any good and THEN, come over to our place.

Of course we couldn’t take their core, and they had already left the original core with the salvage yard (and it was long gone by that time) so they had to pay the core charge which was within a few dollars of the price of the rebuilt component.

Needless to say, there were a lot of P/O’d customers. But I got to the point where I just rubbed their noses in it. I said to more than one guy: “You get what you pay for; cheaper is never better; it’s just cheaper.”

I like it but I’m sure the reserve price is higher than what I can come up with at the moment. For my state I would just need a bill of sale and title, its my understanding that British Columbia doesn’t issue a vehicle title so I would have to ask how that works for Idaho, personally I would work to change the speedometer head to reflect miles, since it’s a truck I would probably never sell my kids can deal with the odometer discrepancy after I’m gone.

Mileage in the photo doesn’t match the listing. Why?
