BF Auction: 2009 Chevrolet Impala LT

Asking: $7,500Make Offer

  • Seller: Gary E (Contact)
  • Location: Staten Island, New York
  • Mileage: 51,000 Shown
  • Chassis #: 2G1WT57NX91323479
  • Title Status: Clean
  • Engine: 3.5-Liter V6
  • Transmission: Automatic

Chevrolet offered some form of the Impala from 1957 until 2021, an impressive run by any measure. This ninth-generation Impala has covered just 51k miles since new and is in immaculate condition. Finding any 15+ year old car with so few of miles and in this clean of shape is quite rare these days. While not the big, luxurious people hauler of the 1960s, these Impalas were great cars and comfortable to drive. If you’d love to give this survivor a new home, it’s being offered here as a Barn Finds Auction and is located in Staten Island, New York.

The ninth-generation Impala debuted in 2005 and was based on General Motors’ updated W-body platform, which was also shared with the Pontiac Grand Prix and Buick LaCrosse. This flexible platform allowed for a variety of engine options and features. The bulk of Impalas built during this era were sold as fleet and police cars. This example is a mid-range LT and features a tilt and sliding glass moonroof, metallic paint, remote start, satellite-ready radio, cold air conditioning, and alloy wheels.

Inside, we find a clean interior with cloth upholstery, wood-grain dash trim, and the iconic Impala logo. There are minimal signs of wear, which is to be expected for a car with this kind of mileage. All it needs is someone to enjoy those comfy seats.

Under the hood, we find GM’s 3.5-liter V6, which is rated at 219 horsepower and 220 foot-pounds of torque. The LZ4 engine is pretty robust, and with such low mileage, this one should be good for many more miles. That being said, you will want to perform a full service and inspection, as it is 16 years old.

The seller, the car’s second owner, states that the vehicle has been garaged its entire life. It presents nicely throughout and has clearly not seen much use over the past 16 years. If you’d love to hit the road in this Impala and add some miles to it, cast your high bids below. And leave any questions you have for the seller in the comment section.

Someone’s last car, I’d guess. And with nobody in the family ready for their first. Nice spec, with sunroof, alloys and a good color, but still in daily driver territory. GLWTA!

I believe that the first Impala’s were in 1958, not 1957….

Yes,1958 Impala. But, first sold in late 1957. The next years models are always sold in the fall of the previous year. That is what they probably meant.

Having been born in 1950, and -always- having been a car nut (I’ve owned over 100 of them) — I’m well aware of how Detroit always managed to ‘tease’ us in the fall of a calendar year, with the following year’s offerings….
As a matter of fact, my first brand new car– a 1970 Olds Cutlass Supreme– I bought in October of 1969
        Very nice Impala here….

Here’s a good solid citizen. Nothing thrilling but a good driver with great equipment and color. Snap it up for less than anything else you can find out there today.

My daughter had one of these in a lighter shade of blue it was a nice car road nice got decent mileage for its size then some guy without a license and didn’t understand the concept of a stop sign hit her on the right side bent the B pillar and dented the rear quarter panel. I drove it home from the scene it still tracked straight insurance never came to look at it they just decided to total it from the pictures I sent I still kinda kick myself for not buying it back and fixing it myself. Someone is going to get a nice car here and it doesn’t have all that screen junk that’s in newer cars.

I used to get these all the time as rental cars for work, and took a liking to them. Comfy, and that engine/gearbox is a peach. Also seemed quite sturdy as they held up well also with higher mileage in the hands of inconsiderate renters.
There’s some certain coolness about that absolute absence of coolness, but anyone who could get their teenager to accept an Impala would for sure get something that is cheap, cheap to run, reliable and fairly safe. What’s not to like?

Gary, what is the date code on the tires? Matched set?

    • GarySeller

      Hi 2DBL02,
Tires are a matched set. I’m not sure where the date code is or what I’m supposed to look for, though.

I suffered a total loss purchasing a car that turned out had been in a flood. Was this car ever in a flood ? I Can’t hear / see car starting or driving / moving in video ? Please add new video perhaps with hood open demonstrating engine start up then driving even if only in a parking lot. Lastly please add close up pictures of the bottom of the drivers door. Thanks. Best Regards, Pat

No this car was never in a flood.
No this car was never a total loss.

Put volume up on your computer, you can hear start up and driving sounds.
Also check your YouTube player and make sure that isn’t muted.

You can see the tachometer move accordingly when the car shifts thru the appropriate gears.
