This 1984 GMC C/K 1500, listed as a Barn Finds Auction in Oklahoma City, is anything but a stock square-body pickup. Showing just 4,095 miles and carrying a clean title, this heavily modified GMC blends classic truck styling with a serious custom build underneath.

Power comes from a 5.0-liter (305 cui) V8 paired with a TH400 4-speed automatic transmission. A B&M Quicksilver shifter and shift kit are part of the package, adding a more performance-focused feel to the drivetrain. The engine bay is dressed up with polished pulleys, while the dual-exhaust routing includes an H-pipe and Flowmaster mufflers, with an X-pipe configuration.

Braking has been significantly upgraded with Wilwood disc brakes at all four corners. Out back, the truck features an independent Corvette rear suspension, a substantial departure from the factory setup and a clear sign this build was meant to stand out mechanically as well as visually.

Suspension modifications are extensive. It rides on Porter Built front and rear Level 3 Extreme Drop members that have been welded in place. Supporting components include Porterbuilt A-arms, trailing arms, and crossmembers. An Accuair self-leveling air system with programmable controller manages ride height, with the main compressor mounted on the engine and a backup air supply located in the bed. All hardlines are nickel-plated, reflecting the attention paid to the build details.

The exterior has been shaved extensively, with everything smoothed except for the door handles. Inside, Auto Meter gauges provide driver information, and the audio system is far from basic. An Alpine head unit feeds two Rockford Fosgate Punch 150 amplifiers, a Rockford Fosgate 300 running the highs, and a pair of 12-inch Rockford Fosgate Pro subwoofers.

This C/K 1500 represents a comprehensive custom effort rather than a light modification. From the Corvette independent rear suspension to the Accuair system and upgraded brakes, itβs a truck built to make a statement both parked and in motion. For fans of radical drops and high-end suspension work, does this 1984 GMC hit the mark?

ahh. i see its dealer day again.
Nice truck!! Selling for…
I see it was built at the Janesville plant. At least it’s been completely modified and improved. That is a good thing as the build quality at that plant in its final years was abysmal! I special ordered a GMC in 84 that was built there and it was junk! That said, this is well executed although not for everyone, GLWTA!
A nice custom truck
A weak 305 backed by a stout th 400 , too bad its missing an extra gear , cause the price of gas and the high revs can drive you crazy , those inner fenders overpower all the nice custom work , a lot of money was spent on this project, lets see where this goes
A ton of money put into this one, and it’s a great looking truck. Looking at the front suspension pic it looks like the control arm is resting on the top bag mount and the air line appears to be contacting the control arm as well. It my be the camera angle, but a good inspection should be done. You never know the quality of a custom.
Grotesque wheels.
They spent a ton of money to fit into an extremely narrow market it appears. Good luck folks. ππ»
