As impressive as modern race cars are, vintage race cars are far more interesting. Take this 1960s Sprint Car, there’s no stability control, diagnostics, or safety nets. Getting the most out of it depended on how skilled you were as a mechanic, your driving ability, and how brave you were. There are still a few vintage racing events going that will allow owners to race machines like this, but most vintage race cars are display pieces now. This example has been parked for a long time, so it’s a showpiece right now, but it looks like it could be revived! The seller is offering it here as a BF Exclusive, so if you’d love to have it, make them an offer!

The seller doesn’t know a ton about the car, mostly just that it was raced in the 1960s and that it currently doesn’t run. Based on the liverly, it was raced by Billy Humphrey and was built or maintained by Hayes and Liss Motorsports of Bricktown, New Jersey.

Looking this Sprint car over, it looks to have been restored and updated at some point. The roll cage might ruin the sleek look, but it is required if you want to take it racing and is a worthwhile safety feature. Even with it, it’s still a cool-looking machine, especially the front end. While we would want to see it raced, it sure would be cool to have it parked in your garage! Be sure to take a closer look at the photos below, and if you’re interested in purchasing it, consider making the seller an offer.

The tires look too big to me, BWTF I would never drive it I would just sit in my garage and pretend I could drive it!
Those tires are for paved tracks. Narrower tread front tires used on dirt so they can dig in on corners. Rear tires are big with treads.
joe i have a set of 6 in wide wheels and tires that go with it. it is a really fun car at shows letting the kids sit in a real race car and have there picture taken.
It’s, it’s, it’s just so beautiful
Notice the left brake only on front. That’s so you can drag it slightly to help get the car to turn left on the smaller oval tracks. Nice old race car.
I thought the idea behind the left front brake only, was to keep you off the fence if you went hard on the brakes.
Pretty nifty old race car, but I think that the seller could have been a little more forthcoming with information about it.
See the four intake tubes, what’s the story on the drivetrain?
Well, there’s not 4, there’s 8, and it looks like early Hillborn injection, which is still pretty popular with the sprint car guys.
How is it that someone is selling a car and cannot or will not provide complete information on it? ( just askin for a friend)
