UPDATE – The seller has added additional photos of the car, which you can find in the gallery below.

Few cars represent classic British sporting luxury as convincingly as the Jaguar Mk II, and this 1961 3.8-liter example stands out as an exceptionally well-preserved and tastefully presented car. Finished in a striking two-tone Blue and Silver, this Mark II looks great, highlighting the model’s iconic curves and balanced proportions. The paint presents cleanly and evenly, and the brightwork remains crisp, lending the car an elegant presence. It’s being offered here as a Barn Finds Exclusive.

Inside, the Jaguar continues to impress. The red leather interior is rich in color and character, pairing perfectly with the exterior finish. The wood veneer dashboard and trim remain in excellent condition, with clear gauges and original switchgear creating a cabin that feels both period-correct and inviting. It’s the sort of interior that reminds you why Jaguar was the go-to brand for luxury sports sedans in the early 1960s.

Under the hood sits Jaguar’s legendary 3.8-liter inline-six, paired here with an automatic transmission. Known for its smooth power delivery and effortless cruising ability, the 3.8 Mk II offered genuine performance in its day while maintaining refinement—making it equally suited for relaxed touring or spirited back-road driving.

This example rides on chrome wire wheels, completing the classic look and reinforcing its timeless appeal. Everything about the car suggests careful ownership and pride of presentation rather than deferred maintenance or cosmetic shortcuts. Notably, this Jaguar is not being sold due to issues or neglect. The owner states the only reason for parting with it is the recent purchase of a Triumph TR6, prompting a thoughtful reduction of the collection rather than a forced sale.

Clean, well-kept Mk IIs have become increasingly difficult to find, particularly examples that retain such a strong visual presence and interior condition. Whether you’re a longtime Jaguar enthusiast or someone looking to experience one of the marque’s most beloved models, this 1961 Jaguar 3.8 Mk II represents a compelling opportunity. As always, we encourage interested buyers to review the photos closely, ask questions, and enjoy the chance to own a true British motoring icon.

This is a beautiful Jag!!! The two tone paint really looks great too. The wood in the interiors on these cars has always been a favorite of mine too. Best wishes on the sale and to the new buyer.

an honest statesmen or corp reale not just the design, mechanics, luxury, performance and appointments but also the condition/state of presentation.

One thing that always sez British motoring is the fantastic speaker grills these cars have. Every time I see one its: “Oh how fantastically English.”

Gorgeous MKII wish it had A/C as I would be buying it and drive it around Southeast Texas.

Beautiful car, I’d be proud to have it in my garage. When I was in the Army, one of the guys on base found and bought a similar model that had sat out in the Mohave Desert for who knows how long. He had access to an auto shop off base and was permanent party there. Thing was that the blowing sand had sandblasted all the paint off the body and turned the glass into opaque glass, something you couldn’t see through. Never knew what happened to it as I was reassigned to another base a couple of months later. Always thought it was a shame the condition the car was in when he got it.

Always thought these were gorgeous. I was making a video of people not coming to a complete stop and got a video of this Jag doing the same thing.

I suspect you don’t see many of these because they cost almost as much as an Etype to restore, but don’t bring in as much.
