Seems ok, but why paint from the moldings down? Interior should be a snap and this would make a great driver.. That said, the price is wayyy tooo high and current market value does not justify it enough for me…
Great car and good find for the right person.. Won’t be me..

      Rust repair.

Painting only the lower half saves money, and in many ways would result in a better job than a ‘glass in’ spray especially when the trim provides the perfect cutoff point.

A similar trick is to apply a pinstripe to the cutoff spot.

I sure liked these when they were in their prime. Just the perfect balance. When they got squared off in ’65 I thought someone was drinking his own bath water. Of course it was well redeemed by ’66.

#5 – kinda like Aaron did on Fast & Loud with his Falcon race car? I really like Aaron – he doesn’t really work for GMG, ya know… has his own shop now and just does F&L for the TV parts. Those old cars make really cool racers.

If you watch it drive away into the distance, is it a Receding Hairline?

63 is one of the best looking Fairlane’s. I’ve seen this one at local cruise nights in KC, very solid, nice looking car, original black 2dr hardtop, seems like a deal to me, wish I had the room for another one.

I had the exact same car in the same colors, except mine was a rare 289 Hi PO K car with a 4 spd and buckets from the factory. What did I know? I beat the hell out of it and sold it for $100. Hindsight…

I had a 64, two tone blue darker below the chrome. 289 automatic Bucket seats and a console, interior was two tone blue also really sporty lookin car for back then. I’m thinking they called it a 64 and a Half, but not sure. Really peppy car with that 289 and a 4 barrel.

Harold wood.. My all time favorite Fairlane is the 64. They seemed to have a smooth contour along the side which rolled into the round tail lamps.. Just a sleek looking body style… Friend of mine had one all black, black wheels, tires and chrome moons. It was very quick for that year and style.. If the opportunity comes up in the future, I may get one.. Plenty of room inside too..

Yea I really liked mine it was kind a mini version of the Galaxie of that year both were Beautiful cars, sure wish I had all those old cars back. I guess you might have called me a Flipper I bought and sold Thousands of cars mostly old Muscle cars. LOL one time a friend and I bought 500 cars in a Package deal. We each saved a few of the older rarer cars for our selves then brought in a crusher after having the Batteries, radiators, cataletic converters ac. condensors, things would bring more money separately, pulled. We made a few Dollars on the deal, LOL

We had this exact body style as a kid, great burgundy color, just the right balance with 221 (?) little V-8.

You know this one is original by the wavy rear bumper, standard equipment on all 62 & 63’s
    LD71 :D
