Chevrolet’s C20 pickups from the early 1970s are prized for their toughness, simplicity, and classic styling. This 1971 Chevrolet C20, offered exclusively through Barn Finds, is a strong-running example equipped with a 350 V8 and a 4-speed manual transmission. Located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, it shows 54,000 miles on the odometer and comes with a clean title.

The seller states that the engine runs well, making the truck a capable driver in its current condition. With its heavy-duty rear end and a set of headers on the exhaust, this C20 retains the durability and character that made these trucks such dependable workhorses.

Cosmetically, the truck presents as a project but has solid fundamentals. The tailgate is described as solid, while areas of rust in the cab floors will need to be addressed. Fortunately, the seller includes new replacement floor pans, which are already waiting in the bed.

The drivetrain remains intact, with the seller describing it as a “strong driver.” The 4-speed manual gearbox paired with the 350 small-block makes for a rugged and reliable combination, well-suited to either restoration or continued use as a functional classic truck.

According to the seller, a previous restoration effort was interrupted when a hired mechanic abandoned the project, leaving the truck partially unfinished. Still, its completeness and running condition make it a promising candidate for someone ready to take over and see the restoration through.

The interior shows wear consistent with age, but the truck remains largely original. With straightforward construction and excellent aftermarket support, sourcing replacement pieces will not be difficult for the next owner.

Overall, this C20 offers an excellent platform for restoration, combining originality with a running drivetrain and included replacement panels. With its clean title, desirable drivetrain, and solid structure, it represents the kind of honest project that continues to draw attention in the classic truck market. Would you restore this 1971 Chevrolet C20 into a show-ready classic, or keep it as a strong-driving workhorse with vintage charm?

I have got one of these.

The grill says 72, check the VIN tag for the year code.

Not so good on gas, nearly indestructable if you take care of it.

This is a nice truck by today’s standards at a reasonable price. I like it just the way it is. But I’m wondering what kind of shape the 63 Chevy is in.
