If you’ve been looking for a Bricknose Ford that hasn’t been hacked up, lifted to the sky, or “improved”, this 1990 Ford F-150 Lariat 4×4 might be worth a closer look. According to the seller, the previous owner was an older gentleman who took exceptional care of it, and it shows. This truck has never been wrecked or abused, and it retains the kind of honest, original feel that’s getting harder to find—despite a long list of thoughtful updates. It isn’t a concours showpiece, but it’s a very clean, well-kept driver that needs only minor attention to be fully dialed in. It is being offered here on Barn Finds and is located in Franklin, Virginia.

Finished in a sharp two-tone scheme, the truck presents well. The paint is fresh, the body is straight, and best of all—it’s said to be rust-free. The stance is right, sitting on brand-new tires, and it still looks like a proper 1990 Lariat should. Speaking of Lariat, this was the top-of-the-line trim option and came with a number of cosmetic and comfort upgrades.

Inside, the cabin has been refreshed without losing its original character. The seat, carpet, and door panels are new, and the interior remains clean, comfortable, and correct for the era. As part of the Lariat option, we find power windows and power door locks, along with cruise control and the factory AM/FM cassette stereo—a nice nostalgic touch. While not as comfortable as modern trucks, this was about as luxrious of a truck as you could get in 1990.

The truck runs, drives, and rides great, and it recently received an oil change. There are a few mechanical items worth noting: A/C needs servicing, a valve cover gasket is needed on one side, and a gasket is needed at the breather valve on top of the rear fuel tank (new gasket included for the next owner). None of these are major jobs, and parts are readily available. The truck is being driven and enjoyed as-is.

This is the kind of truck many people claim to be selling—but rarely are. It’s clean, largely original, tastefully refreshed, and still very usable. Whether you’re looking for a weekend cruiser, a light-duty workhorse, or a solid classic 4×4 you can actually drive without guilt, this F-150 checks a lot of boxes. The seller is asking $16,000 and is open to offers. If you’ve been hunting for a nice, unmolested Lariat from this era, this one deserves your attention. Feel free to reach out with questions—and let us know in the comments what you’d do with it.

A beautiful, clean, solid, rust free everyday driver.. Also an 8 ft bed to be handy with going to Lowes/Home Depot without your tail dragging. I like the mechanical transfer case, manual hub locks none of the electronic “hope it works” BS.. very reasonably priced!!!
She’s a beauty. In fact, the Tubes are on the radio right now.
One in a million!
Crushed on the girl in the video (sigh)
I had an ’89 like this only in 2wd and extended cab. It had belonged to a young gal at work who slid into a ditch. No damage other than then the tow truck driver pulled it out of the ditch. He hooked one of the transmission cooling lines and punctured it. By the time she got home. The transmission was junk. I bought it cheap, bought a heavy duty version from Art Carr. Installed a 9″ rear diff with 4.10 gears. I then changed the injection system over to sequential injection and installed a computer from a 5.0 Mustang. (The pre-1990 5.0 engines are batch fire injected, not SFI) And I’m not exactly sure when Ford went to SFI on the trucks . After installing rear air bags and hitch I was ready to tow a small 5th wheel. Which worked out great and got 12-14 mpg towing the trailer. The kids quickly outgrew the back seat. So I then upgraded to a crew cab.
Beautiful ! BUY it ! You seen the cost of a new truck lately? Something that if anything goes wrong you, nor the dealer can fix . This can still be worked on by common man who has half a brain that can read repair Manuel if anything ever goes wrong.
Nice appearing truck but why oh why, the haphazard application of spray undercoating? If the truck is original, let’s see it as original. This screams coverup and makes future wrenching an absolute mess. if the truck has rust and it will, don’t cover it up.
The truck has no undercoating. The axles and frame were painted. Black paint. Not undercoating.
“Square body” is Chevy lingo. This is a bricknose.
I thought the term was bull nose.
Bullnose was the previous model, circa the early 80’s, up to this one.
Your correct but the term square body is never mentioned in the article.
Honest year Ford truck not like some newer models plagued with problems that Ford wont warranty. Id much rather be driving one like this and shes been refreshed properly. Also easy to work on and maintain.
NICE TRUCK !!! Not a big FORD fan,,,, BUT~~!!
54,000 and the seat and carpet are replaced? Maybe 154,000.
Franklin, VA not that far from me.
Yeah I have no documentation providing what is actually on it but the motor runs strong so not sure. Showing 54,000
The ODO numbers are out of line and I would suspect altered.
I owned one, it was a twin to this one, but mine was Silver over Blue. WORST Ford product I ever bought. Three engines later, and 2 transmissions, I traded it for an Asuna Sunfire. I haven’t bought a Ford since, but I love my Toyota Tundra!!
Crown, agree on the odometer reading. The mechanical odo’s of that era didn’t align properly after 100K. I watched my 90′ Bronco turn the 100,000 mark and it never aligned after that. Also, it’s a unique combination to have those automatic hubs and a manual shift transfer case. Lastly, any pics–anybody ?– of what’s under that bed mat ? Could me nothing, could be something ! Just my $.02
Everyone has comments and some negative…but nobody wants to make contact and ask questions. Feel free. I will answer any serious inquiries.
