No matter your task, you always need the right tool for the job. If towing or off-road adventures are your goals this summer, this 2002 Ford F250 XLT 4×4 King Cab is the right vehicle for the job. Its 7.3-liter Power Stroke Diesel engine produces a mountain of power and torque, while its 4×4 capability will take the harshest terrain in its stride. Its presentation is exceptional, and with only 93,000 miles on its odometer, it should offer years of reliable service. The current owner is ready to send the F250 to a new home, listing it exclusively at Barn Finds with an asking price of $32,500.
Ford introduced its Super Duty truck range for the 1999 model year, with our feature F250 XLT King Cab emerging from the factory in 2002. The owner became its custodian in 2009, and to say that it has led a sheltered existence is an understatement. It has spent its downtime safely squirreled away from adverse weather in this carport and has never been subjected to off-road adventures. The F250 has never been wrecked or restored or been the victim of abuse. Its life has included towing the owner’s boats and the occasional trip to Home Depot. Therefore, its spotless Black paint and arrow-straight panels are unsurprising. Finding anything to fault about its appearance is seemingly impossible, and there are a few sensible upgrades to improve this Pickup’s versatility. These include an incredibly robust Ranch Hand front bumper, a custom rear bumper, and an Air Gate tailgate. The owner includes the original tailgate and rear bumper if the buyer wishes to reverse those changes. The Rhino bed liner is a sensible addition that will protect the paint and steel beneath, and the side steps improve accessibility. Sitting forward of the aluminum diamond plate toolbox in the bed is a matching auxiliary 45-gallon fuel tank to greatly increase this classic’s cruising range. The trim and glass are excellent, and the alloy wheels are wrapped in Michelin tires with less than 2,000 miles under their treads.
Lifting the hood reveals the business end of proceedings with this F250. The engine bay houses a 7.3-liter Power Stroke Diesel V8, coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Power assistance for the steering and brakes will lighten the driver’s load in tight confines if the buyer decides to pursue off-road adventures. The Power Stroke is a brute of an engine, developing 250hp and an incredible 525 ft/lbs of torque. It is worth noting that both the power and torque peak low in the engine’s rev range, making this F250 ideal for traversing harsh terrain or fully utilizing the tow hitch. The owner purchased the vehicle with 52,000 miles on the clock, servicing it with Amzoil Full Synthetic fluids. It has been maintained to exacting standards using the same products ever since, helping to explain why it still runs and drives as nicely as it did when it left the factory. This Ford is mechanically unmolested, apart from the addition of a cold air intake filter and a 4″ exhaust for improved breathing. The F250 has a genuine 93,000 miles showing on its odometer and should provide the buyer with years of reliable service.
Interiors can tell a graphic story of the life a classic Pickup has led, and the immaculate state of this F250 confirms that it has been treated respectfully. The Tan cloth upholstery is free from wear and stains, with the plastic, vinyl, and carpet equally impressive. There is no evidence of mud stains or other problems and no signs of UV deterioration. The back seat looks perfect and appears to have rarely seen occupants. It doesn’t merely look nice but is equipped with plenty of welcome creature comforts. The buyer receives air conditioning, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, cruise control, a tilt wheel, and an AM/FM radio/cassette/CD player. Aftermarket additions include a CB radio and a top-of-the-line trailer brake controller.
With summer on our doorstep, the thoughts of many turn to outdoor activities. Whether it is extended road trips, towing a beloved toy like a boat or a trailer, or delving deep into the wilderness to commune with Mother Nature, finding an appropriate vehicle to pursue these activities is crucial. This 2002 Ford F250 XLT 4×4 King Cab will perform all of those roles effortlessly. It has obviously been cherished and treated respectfully, and its condition is well above average for a Pickup of this type and age. The owner states that he would happily drive this classic anywhere, meaning that it is a turnkey proposition for its new owner. You could head into your local Ford dealer and drive away in a new F250 King Cab, but that would lighten your wallet by over $65,000. Alternatively, you could buy this immaculate 2002 example for half that price and keep a fair pile of change in your pocket. That is why this classic deserves a close look.
Hook up the trailer 🏕 and go. 🦌 🐟 🏄♂️
It’s a Super Cab, not King Cab. Nissan used the name ‘King Cab’.
That is sweet. I had an 02 F250 but with the 5.4 that liked to spit spark plugs. Once you learned to check all the plugs every 30k, and listen for whats sounds like a valve tap. It’s the loose plug.
It drove great, wasn’t strong enough to tow a 5klbs trailer and not burn through gas. But, for hauling a ton of pellets
My 02 F250 went to 180k but started ngetting too crunchy with rust. Go slowly over a bump or speedbump and the cab made weird sounds. I had a Tundra now. No issues but I miss the Ford seats. This 7.3 is sweet. Those you can run until it dies, which is 300k plus.
Well if you can’t Dodge it! Ram it!
