Big Block Bel Air: 1955 Chevrolet Gasser

This Bel Air was supposedly saved from a barn about 15 years ago, but it looks like it needs to be saved again, this time from the seller’s garage! Prior to being parked in the barn, it was built into a big block gasser and was quite the machine. It’s in pieces and I’m guessing it has been for a long time. It’s going to need a huge amount of work, but how cool would it be to have a 454 powered Bel Air? There are a lot of parts here, but it’s hard to say what all is missing. If your up for a big block puzzle, you can find this Bel Air here on eBay in Spotsylvania, Virginia with a BIN of $13k and bidding just over $2k. So would you put the 454 back into this old Gasser or would you put something modern in it?

I’ve got no use for it at $12.9k,maybe at $3,500, The value of tri-5s have dropped and this one has been too modified to be worth restoring… Unless the owner has verifiable documentation that this car was of some racing notoriety then it’s main value is going to be as a vintage bracket racer or street rod…

I agree Drew to much modifying to be worth any kind of resto. I’d pass on this one. As for the engine who in there right mind whats to drive around with this gas hog under the hood.

The ebay ad says this is 150 sedan; so who decided to mislead us by calling it a Bel Air

Get it cheap…put on a fiberglass front clip and a 350 And take it to the nostalgic dirt races and sling some mud.

I would keep it gasser, not a clone of the movie cars. Maybe like the Badman model kit? No not that either. Maybe a fictional gasser, make it street legal, keep it a little ugly. Have fun with it. Can’t be restoerd toOEM, so why not a tribute to all that came before it?

I am the OWNER of this car the “seller” on Evil-Bay was supposed to be working on it. Instead he striped and sold it. If anyone knows where it is contact me. IT IS A STOLEN CAR!
