Big Block C-10! Updated 1965 Chevy Pickup

This hot little C-10 blends the popular short-bed first-generation C-10 body with the power and technology of a 21st-century daily driver. Offered here on eBay, the 1965 Chevrolet C-10 features a 454 cid (7.4L) crate motor and four-speed overdrive automatic transmission. This professional build includes Holley Sniper fuel injection and more! Bidding has eclipsed $16,500 without meeting the seller’s reserve.

Those Torque Thrust wheels look good on just about anything. Some genuine rust blends with the faux patina to polarize buyers who either love or hate the “P word.” Air bags let you drop it in the weeds without a buckboard ride. These handsome half-tons got an independent coil front suspension in 1963 for a car-like ride even then. Thanks to hhclassic.com for some details.

Few components under the hood say “1965,” and that’s OK. This truck was built to be enjoyed on modern roads, with EFI, power steering, and more. A Corvette-style boosted brake master cylinder pushes fluid to four-wheel disc brakes. With only 6000 miles covered since a complete overhaul in 2016, this C-10 barely needs its first post-break-in oil change.

The mostly-original ’65 dashboard looks surprisingly modern and car-like. Any truck of this vintage should show some bare painted metal inside, and the bright orange here makes one question the shabby exterior. With 455 HP on tap and 3.73 gears in the Auburn positraction rear, this orange crate-motor-powered Chevy can be used to write your name in twin black script on the parking lot of your choice. The seller includes a host of well-composed pictures including some showing a mostly clean and rust-free undercarriage. The description includes plenty of line-item details in mixed case, a pleasant presentation compared to ALL CAPS and/or stream-of-consciousness listings lazily dictated into a cell phone. Will you reward this seller with a bid to win this modernized short-bed C-10?

Great “stance.” No help with climate change with this rig, are we all doomed? The recent climate change report makes me wonder when gas rationing will resume or something worse.

Until the advocates that preach action on climate change adopt the lifestyle they propose I can’t be bothered listening to them. I keep my thermostat turned down and put things in recycling, but I’m not going to radically change my lifestyle for them.

      Climate change is real.

The solution for vehicles is electric and the sooner manufacturers realize it the better.

Don’t worry there will always be a gasoline supply. Just a lot less demand

I’ve been looking for a 65 C10 Custom for a while, but this is outside of my budget and life timing right now.

I’ll give it a passing grade mechanically & HP wise but the ‘patina’ & colour are wholly disgusting IMHO. This is why industry invented black primer & compressed air.

I love this truck, I have owned and built several trucks ,similar to this ,stance, creaure comforts, including late drive train, A/C etc. They are just fun! I have also done Patina and I will admit its been overdone, however with this truck and some I built, the Patina is one of the easyest things to change, clean it up and take it to the next level. You continue to raise the bar, to your comfort zone and have a great truck.

A very nice resto-mod and I very much like that the builder kept the original interior look. I’m with Robert White as regards the rusty and worn finish. Fake or real, get rid of that tiresome look with a fresh paint job. In any color, even if it’s just primer.

Bring it to Maaco! Also needs a/c, I like being comfortable.

    I agree with Robert .

The Faux Patina ruined the truck for me.

Whats with all the angry ending stating money must be paid to seller not the owner ?

    Weird

With all the upgrades this would be a cool driver. Really like the Torque Thrusts here, or on most any older “rod” or street machine, just a simple solid paint job would finish it. Nothing fancy.
