Cheap Fun: 1972 Lancia Fulvia 1.3S Coupe

1972 Lancia Fulvia 1.3S Coupe

There has been quite a number of older Italian cars in all shapes, sizes, and condition coming up for sale lately. In what looks like the all original category, this 1972 Lancia Fulvia 1.3S Coupe is at a current bid price of $8,888 with no reserve! The car is located in Cleveland, Ohio and you can see more here on eBay. The mileage is listed at 58,515 and the car comes with a clear title. This seems like a really fun car for the money.

The seller claims the car to be mechanically sound and that it runs and drives well. One can conclude based on the photos that it has been well taken care of in the time it has spent on the road. This second series of the car, produced from 1970 to 73, has a 1298 cc, 4 cylinder engine connected to a 5-speed manual transmission. It would have had 90 horsepower when new. They do note the car has the typical oil leaks.

Inside only a few cracks mar the front and rear dashboard of the car. The rest is absolutely stunning. All the glass is said to be original to the car. There are quite a few photos showing the underside of the car on a lift, and it is absolutely incredible just how fresh everything is. It is hard to think that this car is original, but there is no word in the listing if it has been restored or not. The gold wheels certainly add a nice touch.

With only a few days left, and what seems to be like such a low bid price, maybe this car is not something buyers are interested in. Understandably, Italian cars of this age do seem to be a mechanical money pit, but to have such an inexpensive, red, Italian sports car is also incredibly tempting. Maybe it would be worth it to just buy it and keep it for a short period of time, then sell it before it becomes too much of a burden. Just to say you could own one!

Have a closer look at the front end photos on the ebay auction… that car has been in a frontal collision. The direct front view photo shows a quite asymmetrical face.

Lots of sloppy rust repair on the bottom covered up with undercoating. Beware.
