This post war 47 Ford has been stored for many years, but looks to be a promising project. The body looks surprisingly straight, and the under-body looks solid as well. With an asking price of $2,900, we are intrigued by this Ford. Find it here on craigslist out of Arpin, Wisconsin.
There is not much information shared about this ford in its craigslist ad, but the pictures offer some information. The interior looks to be lacking door panels, and some dash trim and components. The body itself looks like an excellent starting point with only a couple of dings present in the body line. There looks to be some surface rust on the underside of this old Ford, and there looks to be a small amount of rot in the bottom of the front fenders where the running boards meet up. There is no mention of extra parts, or any of the missing parts that go to this Ford. There is a flathead V8 present in the engine bay but the photo is worthless other than the fact of showing an engine is in the bay. Condition on the engine is unknown at this point. If the seller added more information to the listing it would certainly stir up even more interest.
Although there isn’t a wealth of information present, this looks like a great opportunity for someone who is looking for a restoration candidate, or perhaps a black rat rod type of cruiser. No matter your choice, this ’47 Ford is reasonably priced and a solid starter for your next project. What would you do with this ’47 Ford?
Gone in 60 seconds
I’m not surprised to see it gone. Sure would be a nice car to bring home, finish it and enjoy driving it…
shoulda been mine…
Seems like a good deal, too bad all the trim is missing, not a big deal re-pop available for 47’s & 8’s. But, lots of work and money. I love the 46-48’s, but historically the lowest price Fords, unless convertible or woody. Its easy to get up-side down in a restoration.
I did a 46 2-door a few years ago(12) paid 5K, did tires wheels, dropped axel, interior, small block Chevy, stock trans , rear end. Sold for 17K, I probably broke even and it was a great driver!
