Bidding is nearing the Buy-It-Now price for this 1985 Chevrolet Corvette, which is described as being a nicely kept driver quality southern car. The seller says it is not a show car but well taken car of, and drives without any issues. The asking price is $6,899 and bidding is currently at $4,250 with the reserve unmet. Find the it here on eBay with true mileage unknown and a new set of tires recently mounted.
When it comes to automatic-transmission equipped Camaros without the upgraded suspension packages, the main selling point is going to be the condition. This is a bread-and-butter Camaro in fairly uninspiring colors, but you have to look at how well it’s been kept to get a fuller picture of the appeal. It’s not been altered in any major way, and the factory two-tone paint still appears to be in excellent shape.
You can fake it with colors like this one, as the exterior will hide lots of flaws. The interior, however, provides more convincing evidence that it hasn’t been messed with, as the light-colored upholstery and carpeting still presents quite nicely. I always dig period upholstery like this, such as my much-maligned Subaru XT6 project with its checkerboard seats – my favorite part of a an otherwise horrible car.
The seller notes the 350 still pulls well, but doesn’t describe any recent maintenance. Underhood is a bit dingier than expected given the rest of the car, but the hoses and air cleaner at least look fresh. This is a car that look infinitely better with the painted surfaces cleaned up, or at least the overflow and windshield washer tanks cleaned up. A nice driver for not much money – hard to go wrong.
The VIN number (1G1FP87H0FL443491) eighth digit states it’s a 155HP 305 LG4, not a 350. http://www.chevy-camaro.com/chevy-camaro-VIN-decode-third-gen.asp
That’s what I thought, only the IROC-Z & some Select Z-28’s Cars had a TPI 350 As far as I know….
It’s a Camaro, not a Corvette as listed in the first sentence of this article.
Or maybe a “Camvette” powered by a 305 AKA “350” V-8 and with low “unknown” high miles!
LOL
Or maybe a Corvaro
There seems to be a run on mid eighties Chevrolets here.
Is that done on purpose or is it a coincidence?
nice looking car but yawn color, yawn LG4 and yawn auto trans
Nice condition, but pretty much the automotive definition of “bland.” With an emphasis on “bland.”
This is the type of car that needs updates! LS swap w/6MT and 4.10 rear. Now that would be fun to drive.
Too bad it’s didn’t come with the 305 ho option. Back when these were new I being surprised how much better the l69’s ran over the base 305
yeah, we had a new light blue 84 L69 Z28 in the household for awhile and it was f’ing fast pulled at least 1500rpm farther than the LG4 with a brief spin into second gear. It was more fun to drive than our 84 Vette cause it loved to rev…made peak power at 4800 vs Vette 350’s 4300 and LG4’s 4000.
Been there, done that. Pass on that weak 305. My 4-cylinder pickup has more horsepower. He will probably sell it for around 6 grand, but there is no muscle in that “muscle” car.
