Kit cars are always a little unique but converting a 425hp Dodge Charger into a pickup is absolutely a bold choice. After a little research, you’ll find that this conversion kit is available for 2005-2010 Dodge Chargers. This example has nearly 200k miles and is for sale on eBay for $20k.
The Charger is finished in Inferno Red and appears to be in good condition. The conversion kit seems to have been installed correctly and the very low pick-up wears what look like 20 inch wheels in black. Overall the “pickup” presents well. This is certainly an oddball and is likely a neck-breaker on the road.
The interior appears to be in good condition and has black leather bucket seats with cloth centers. The styling is very early 2000’s and free of extra frills. It could use a detailing but if you look past the dirt its hard to find blemishes. It seems to come with a free coffee as well.
The bed is in great condition and could likely come in handy for carrying large items. It could be a cool alternative option to help a friend with their move. The seller did not include any engine photos. A 6.1L Hemi V8 engine is said to send power to the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle is said to drive great. It is equipped with a performance tuned rack and pinion, power brakes, and Severe Duty Engine II Engine cooling. This is a very unique build for someone who is looking to drive a modern muscle car thats a little different. While many kits are aesthetically oriented only, this one marries the practicality of a pickup to the performance of a Charger. While it likely wouldn’t act as a great work truck, it certainly would add some diversity to any collection. If you want to call this Charger pickup yours contact the seller on eBay.
It’s hard to see this modified 200,000 mile 2007 SRT8 sell for a premium above a lower mileage stock version. The seller recently ran it through eBay and only pulled a high bid of $8,100. The seller’s feedback, 18 negative, 37 neutral, within the last year doesn’t inspire much confidence, that’s the sort of track record that usually requires a discount.

Dodge charger to pickup conversion kit. WHY ????
Because..well er…um..because!
Why the El Camino or Ranchero? Just a modern version of an old idea.
Perfect vehicle for your next street takeover.
Those guys don’t buy their cars.

Then there’s a boatload of stolen Chargers in the big cities.
Big C, yes there are, I live about 19 miles south of Oakland, every city in the east bay plus San Francisco and San Jose have problems. It doesn’t make the news unless they block the Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge, run someone over or the crowd starts shooting at each other, even then there needs to be video or it’s deemed not newsworthy.
In the late-90’s to mid-2000’s nearly every 5.0 Mustang that wasn’t parked in a locked garage was stolen. Before that every 86/87 Buick GN was stolen, I had a friends whose GN was stolen 4 times once at his wife’s work, once at the grocery store and twice in his driveway before he got rid of it.

Ohio just put the kabash on these takeovers, with a new law. It only took them a couple of years. But last summer, the idiots got out of hand and attacked a LEO. The sad thing is, the media calls this crap ” street racing.” Spinning your Dodge Charger around in a circle, in an intersection, with 3 or 4 morons hanging out of the windows, has zero to do with racing. Or high performance car culture in general.
Charger came with a truck ugly grill. Guy just finished the build.
Some people will go to extremes to get rid of two doors.
Big C, you are right, a few years ago during some civil uprisings, after a group of people torched an outlet mall a few miles from my house they crossed the street and helped themselves to around 50 Challengers and Chargers at the Dodge. I’ve heard the ignition system is incredibly easy to hack due to the keyless push button ignition.

That bed needs a cover because at speed the aerodynamics of that “truck” are going to suck.
16 photos and none underneath the hood. Seller has over 9,000 items listed.
I think this is so well done, it should have been made at the factory. $20K, 200k miles? Pffft.
That’s a conversion kit you can buy from Smyth’s Performance in Rhode Island. They have kits for VW’s, Audi, Dodge etc.
Wow, just wow! This abomination is the stuff of fairy tales, or drug induced illusions. I simply can not see this thing selling for anything more than what Steve R noted. I can’t stress enough how nuts I think this thing is. $20,000 and 200,000 miles??????
When one of our Sheriff’s Dept Chargers was hit behind the driver’s door, I considered buying it and ordering the Smyth Ute Conversion to build it like this. Well-designed, not a difficult build to make with their kit. This one’s way overpriced. About $8-10k would be about it.
Why the El Camino or Ranchero? Just a modern version of an old idea.
I’m throwing in my useless 2 cents. I have a 2012 Charger Pursuit and I love it. I love most years of El Caminos, had a Hugger Orange with black vinyl roof and black vinyl interior 1970 El Camino with the mandatory ‘slotted or mag’ wheels and of course Sky Jacker air shocks, this WAS in 1980 after all and that stuff was required to be cool 😎 lol. Awesome car but I digress. I also really like several years of Rancheros. All that now said, I still decide how I feel about these. Enough babble from me. Have a good day all of you.
Sara, what does “ a neck-breaker on the road” mean?
Means people suddenly turning their head to oggle at something.
