Yes, this 1986 Chevrolet C10 is not exactly a tired, dusty barn find, but it is a survivor-grade specimen with just 66,500 miles on the clock. The seller has converted the former pickup to a flatbed that makes the possibilities somewhat endless as to how you can use this clean single-cab truck. The asking price is just $3,700 and is listed here on craigslist. Thanks to Barn Finds reader Bill for the find.
The bed “…75 wide x 95 long!,” according to the seller, and is effectively a blank slate. It would make an ideal tailgate vehicle, or perfect for transporting snowmobiles or motorcycles / quads / ATVs. The cab is quite tidy, with no sign of rot in the trouble spots near the corners, and while I can’t identify where the wheels are from, they look sharp and period correct.
With the abundance of C10s on the market at any one time, we should’t fret that this one was customized a bit. The black grill is a take-it-or-leave-it-look; I’d personally keep it chrome to tie into the wheel covers. The seller notes that the 305 V8 and automatic transmission work well together, and that the Chevy came with the heavy-duty spring package from the factory.
You’ll also find power steering and brakes on board, and the bed is newly-constructed with “…Wolmanized lumber under the Trex deck material that will last a long time.” The low mileage combined with the clean body make this a pretty straightforward acquisition if you can use a rig like this, as parts are perpetually cheap and upkeep is very DIY-friendly. How would you use this custom-flatbed C10?
French fries, beer and buttermilk…mmmmmm. Oh yeah, the truck is nice too.
Pass the fries, but hold the buttermilk…
Jeez, the ’57 Dodge Lancer hubcaps gotta be worth a bunch…
Price is right.
I know that if I was close the title would already be in my name! All the good barn finds or vehicles are so far away from me! Maybe I should move back to civilization!
Same here. When They say barn find in wv they mean a total disaster or tractor parts. I’ve only witnessed one barn find and it went for a ton of cash here. I was able to get my caddy at what I called a garage find , and it needed lots of tlc, 76 caddy parked since 1989. Bad transmission. Bought it for a mere 325 bucks. Spent about 1100 on tires and repairs and I drive it all the time .
Hot Dog Jonny’s, Where this picture was taken, has been open since about 1948 and still going strong. this was in my stomping ground as a kid. Still open and the hot dogs are really great. never had the buttermilk. Too far away for me now, as I now live in southern Del.
