Drivable 1964 Chrysler 300 For $1,900!

1964 Chrysler 300

The 300 in the Chrysler 300’s model designation stood for the horsepower output of the first cars. This particular 300 is fitted with a 383 and still manages to crank out a little more than that number. The seller claims that this one is all original and has the push button automatic and air conditioning. The carb has already been rebuilt and the radiator has been cleaned up. At $1,900 it will probably be easy to overlook the one area that needs fixing. Take a look here on craigslist out of Kingman, Arizona. Thanks goes to PaulG for the tip!

Body Work Needed

Yep, there’s a little body damage that needs to be addressed. The seller doesnt mention that in their listing, but there’s photos of the damage and what appears to be a replacement front clip. Since the car is already running and driving, I can imagine that it will be easy for someone to overlook that minor flaw. Let’s just hope they know what they are getting into and that the bodywork actually gets done. These were big comfortable cruisers which any of us should be proud to have in the garage. In fact, I was a little tempted myself!

Jesse, I want to point out a minor error; it’s Kingman AZ, and it’s located on I-40 and I-95 (the way from AZ to Vegas)
If this is an AZ car, rust shouldn’t be a big issue. Kingman is “high desert”, and relatively dry.

    A ’64 with a 383 for less than 2K? Gone in 60 seconds.

These have always been great cars and this one seems reasonably priced. Plenty of room to make some sweat equity.

      Maybe even some “sweet” equity.

I would say that this vehicle will be quickly sold at the listed price.

I currently own a 64 Chrysler New Yorker Salon w/413cid v8. I paid $1800 for it four years ago and drive it daily. It’s a pleasure to own and drive. This car is well worth the asking price. If I didn’t already have the car that I do, I would be trying to get this one. I hope someone grabs this one up quick.

my dad woke up in rear floorboard of one in a police impound yard, some friends had mom and dad out drinking and on the way home it a cow it did more damage than the one shown. police took the driver in custody and drove both wives home. all forgot about dad. I helped repair that 300 I wish I had it.

I had one of these 2 years ago….even more rare in that it was a special “Spring Edition” which was silver with black leather interior. Cool car needed restoration but not in terrible shape, drove it around awhile and moved on to another project. Couldn’t GIVE that ’64 300 away…ended up selling it for something like $2300 after 2 months of torture posting it on the local CL. Hopefully this guy will get what he’s asking people often say the styling of these is “debatable” but I’ve always found them very attractive. The push button trans takes a bit of getting used to.

That would have been the silver edition. They came out with it in 64 to commemorate the silver anniversary of the 300 model series. More of them were made then the Salon ,which I have. Same trim, features and drive train. Google the images. Beautiful car.

That is correct it was the Silver Edition. I had heard they had some leftover 63 Salons and made the Silver Edition out of them (doesn’t quite make sense but I’ve read that in a few places). Both the Salon and the Silver Editions are beautiful cars in my opinion.
