Dusty 1964 Impala 2 Door Sport Coupe

I

This ’64 Impala is listed here on eBay and is located in a Rochester, New York barn. The seller has set their BIN at $6,500, but they are willing to hear lower offers. I have seen restored examples listed for $25,000+. The owner states: “stored in a garage, there is some rust and hasn’t seen winter conditions in almost 40 years!” Please review their other images below.

There are no keys for this car and the condition of the engine is unknown. We always tend to go in assuming the worst when it comes to engines, but hope for the best.

The odometer is showing 31,292, which is most likely not all the miles it’s seen. The leather interior looks ok, but will likely need some work. The tires are clearly going to need to be replaced, but these things are all minor issues.

What might not be is what happened to the front end. The passenger’s side front fender was replaced in 1970, we assume because of an accident. It could be a minor issue or something of greater concern, but you won’t know without taking a closer look.

Cheers,
Robert

I swear I’ve seen this listed before just recently…..and the seller couldn’t be bothered pushing it out into the light then either.

This is actually only a couple miles from my house. My stepdad is currently looking for this exact car, so I contacted the seller to see it in person, but he/she will not respond. Not sure what their problem is…

Looks like they’ve at least cleaned some dust off this time around!

My 1st girlfriend out of high school in ’72 had a car exactly like this. Man, that was a big car. She was just a little thing, and had to sit on a pillow to see over the steering wheel. Later, she traded it for a brand new ’72 Datsun 1200. Talk about one extreme to the other. This one’s pretty tired. Someone drove this old Chevy, until it wouldn’t go anymore, and here it is. Sadly, will probably turn into a Cheech and Chong low rider, or one of those “bouncy” jumping cars.

I second that Howard but I don’t even think Cheech & Chong would pay $6500 for it, maybe half that.

I’m from Rochester. Back in the 60’s Rochester and the surrounding towns put salt on the roads by the tons. if you can see salt damage, what you can’t see is even worse and won’t stop. Perhaps worth checking out, but probably this is a parts car for someone who needs that 327 V8. Knock a -0- off the asking price and it might be worth that.

Stoed in a damp shelter…anytime I see rust on interior components, it’s an immediate turn off. This interior also seems to appear moldy as well; the replacement fender is missing the chrome trim. All these “little” things will be difficult to find/overcome. IMO, this car is overpriced.
