The seller states that this 1977 Chevrolet Corvette is a barn find because it has been sitting in his garage for 10 years. With the amount of dust and the condition of the interior, I don’t doubt that it has been sitting that long without any attention. The car can be seen here on Facebook Marketplace with an asking price of $8,900. I am not sure how the seller came up with their asking price but C3 prices are not that strong. The Corvette is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado and is painted grey with a black interior.
There is little information amount the mechanical side of this car besides that it needs the fluids changed, needs a battery and needs brakes. The car is most likely equipped with the base L48 350 cubic inch V8 engine which produced a paltry 180 horsepower in 1977. The optional performance engine for 1977 was the L82 350 cubic inch V8 engine that delivered 210 horsepower. Power is transferred to the rear gears via a Turbo 350 automatic transmission.
The black interior is rough and in disarray. The Corvette is equipped with standard rally wheels which I think look pretty good but I prefer the optional slotted aluminum wheels. In 1977, the engine paint color was changed from orange to corporate blue early in the production year. This engine appears to be painted black like a replacement engine.
The pictures indicate that the grey paint is not in good condition and there is no mention of whether any rust is prevalent under the car. Corvettes need to be driven so I bet this car has a long list of needs. It may be worth $2,000 to $5,000 tops if it is running. Am I too tough on this old Corvette? Let me know your thoughts.
Looks to be a complete intact car with potential to be a nice driver. Unfortunately, the seller is apparently too lazy to replace the fluids, brakes, battery, etc and try to get it running. Also to move it out of the garage, clean it up and take some good pics.
I agree, overpriced.
If you’re concerned about rust you should note it seems to be sporting snow tires at least on the back. Overpriced as is.
Meh. Disco Vette with a bland color combination and an automatic. Not a bad car – could be a fun cruiser, but not something people are likely to get in a bidding war over. Especially with (as noted above) the lack of effort put into the listing.
i think the price is to high for the shape its in.
Can it be called. “Barn find” if you find it in your own barn?
One of the most blah blah plain Corvettes ever made, not sure why you’d wanna feature this.
