Estate Sale Find: 1915 “Southern Roads” Model T

1915 Ford Model T Wide Track

The guys over at Raleigh Auction & Estate Sales just contacted us about an upcoming sale where they are going to auction off a 1915 Ford Model T. This is a special Southern Roads or Wide Track model and that means the track is about 4 inches wider than a normal T. They were built that way so the wheels would line up in the wagon ruts still commonly found in the South. This one has been stored in a barn with some interesting covers in place. It may look dirty, but the auction house claims that it has only been parked for the past 5 years and that there are several shelves full of trophies that the car accumulated in its heyday. There are also many boxes of spare parts that will be included in the sale. The car will be auctioned on June 27th in Raleigh, North Carolina and we will update this post as more photos and details emerge. If you are in the market for a Model T and live in the area, this may be the one to get!

Although I’m not in the market for a Model T, I do live in a suburb of Raleigh should someone need assistance with this.

Thank you so much, Barn Finds!
Not often… or ever… do we come across a 100-year old car in a barn! This 1915 Model T Ford was truly a unique barn find! We’re happy it’s celebrating it’s “100th birthday” by coming back from it’s retirement and making an appearance on Barn Finds! We’re looking forward to getting more photographs later this week! Here’s the June 27 Raleigh Auction page for anyone interested in this 1915 Southern Roads / Wide Track / Dixie Model T Ford: http://raleighauction.com/events/view/104

No idea as to worth. To ME, far less than a Model T “Snowmobile.”

But I think, if someone really wants a “curbside/virtual valuation” of this, it is probably a good idea to get ahold of a few Model T forums and “shop” it there–if they don’t already know about it.

Unless, of course, a Barnfinder wants it for him/herself. Then, the less said the better.

    Good luck and interesting find!
