Reader Ben M has done a ton of work to his 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 and it’s in beautiful condition. Unfortunately, he needs to find a new home for it. It’s a 390 V8 equipped car, so it should be fun to cruise in. The mechanicals have already been refreshed and it was repainted in 2010. Ben admits it has a few cosmetic flaws but is in otherwise great condition. He’s asking $8,900, which seems like a very reasonable price for a nice big block driver. If you’d love to give this Galaxie a new home, be sure to message him via the form below!
Asking Price: $8,900
Location: Marion, Arkansas
Title Status: Clean
Seller’s Description: My 1965 Galaxie 500 features the 390 V8 with Cruise-o-matic automatic transmission. In 2010, it was painted and the engine, transmission, brakes & suspension were done at that time as well. In 2018 it got a new fuel tank, carb and tires/wheels. Also, I installed a Petronics ignition and a new distributor.
Body Condition: Body is in very good overall condition. Paint is deep and clear but there are a few imperfections. Would classify paint as above average but not perfect. All panels and lines are straight. Interior is in very good condition.
Mechanical Condition: This car runs cool and smooth on the highway and around town. No known mechanical issues.
This really does seem like a great deal for a nice classic. Getting a car painted these days will easily set you back the asking price of this one, plus you’d still have the cost of fixing the interior and mechanical systems. While it’s fun to restore a classic muscle car, it sure would be nice to be able to jump right into this one and drive it away! So, if you’ve been hunting for a turnkey Galaxie 500, be sure to contact Ben via the form below and work out a deal!

Nice ride price is right.
My dad is looking for a nice driver. This looks like it fits the bill. Are you willing to assist with shipping (at buyer expense). We are on Long Island. Ive shipped cars from Vegas area before.
Beautiful car!
As a fellow owner of a 1965 Galaxie I must say this car is a very good buy for the price. If you are interested in one of these this is the car to get. This thing looks great inside and out. It looks like all of the work is done so you can just get in and enjoy it.
I studied all the pics and I am very impressed with this car. Everything you can see looks great. Nice bumpers, excellent seats and door panels. The dash looks great. Panel fit looks nice, and the engine compartment is beautiful.
This is a great way to get into a collectible car with minimal investment in time and money. Try to find a tri-five Chevy, Mustang, or Chevelle in this condition and you will pay much much more.
Great car Ben M. Good luck with the sale. I wish my ’65 Galaxie looked half as nice as yours!
(Note: I do not know Ben M and have no personal or financial interest in this sale.)

Thanks for the kind words John.
Although I don’t know which engine it had this was the same car/color that my dad bought brand new when I was a kid. This is a great looking example at an attractive price.
Well if you have a Ford guy it’s a really nice car the price is definitely right
Im a Chevy guy but… A buddy growing up had similar but his was an XL if I recall with a 352 auto, buckets and console. This is a sharp car and looks well priced. If it weren’t for distance and our bad $Canuck buck… I could own a Ford!
I’m a Chevy guy but I would buy this in a heartbeat beautiful car . Let’s think about it 10 k for a rusted out mopar with no drivetrain or this for 8,900 hmmm it’s a no brainer to me bring on the Galaxy
This car has to be the bargain of the month considering what some of the junk sells for , best of luck to the new owner .
A shame I am on another continent .
If it was a 1966 Conv. and closer to the Northeast I would be interested. Back in the late 60’s I had a ’66 that was red with white Conv. top. Chrome reverse wheels with baby moons. I bought it 2 days after returning from Viet Nam. When we got married we had that car. Many cars have come and gone since then, but I still have the same wife! note the photo is not of my car, but mine was just like it.
1965 was a good year for Ford they vastly improved the suspensions which gave these cars a much better ride. They sold very well too due to the crisp styling. The dashboards are also pretty swank for a Ford. The XL’s were especially nice.
1965 was also the arrival of the LTD. I have seen articles which, with the benefit of hindsight, wonder if the LTD was the beginning of the end for Mercury (and, by extension, Oldsmobile et al). Why spring for a Mercury when a Ford was trimmed this nicely?
I’ve always liked the sharp styling of the 1965-67 full size Fords. This is a nice example.
I’m a GM big 60s floaty boat fan but this car has all the right stuff: color, equipment and pedigree. A fine example and the C-O-M/390 is a great combination. At this price it should sell quickly. Congrats to whomever takes this Galaxie home!
Thanks for the kind words everyone. Car is sold. I appreciate the Barn Finds community.
Is this car still available?
