EXCLUSIVE: 1972 Ford F250 Camper Special

Gloria H’s husband started restoring this Ford F250 a few years back. He rebuilt the 390 V8, restored the body and had it repainted. Unfortunately, before he got around to restoring the interior and redoing all the electrical systems, he passed away. Gloria has decided it’s time to let go of his truck and thought one of you Barn Finders might want to have it. It runs and drives, but just needs a few things tidied up to make it a very nice truck. It’s located in Kamiah, Idaho and she’s asking $5,000. If you’re interested, be sure to contact her via the form below!

Asking Price: $5,000
Location: Kamiah, Idaho
Title Status: Clean
VIN: F25HKN40828

Seller’s Description: The paint is less than 3 years old, rubberized bed liner coating, less than 500 miles on rebuilt 390 Engine and tranny, and the body is in good condition.

Body Condition: No rust, except on old hub covers. No dents. New back bumper. A good amount of restoration has been done.

Mechanical Condition: The 390 V8 engine runs great. The electrical system is the main thing to be tackled. My husband passed away before completing that. Inside is in fair condition, the dash being in the worst shape. It is covered by a custom-made Dashmat.

Our condolences to Gloria and her family. It looks like her husband did nice work and this truck should prove to be fun to have. If you’d love to give it a good home, make sure to contact her via the form below.

Always sucks when a fellow enthusiast passes. One more blow to our hobby, not to mention the family. Looks like a nice truck ( little overspray on the motor, but that’s ok) Judging by what has come through here lately, I think the price is a bit weak. I only hope some flipper doesn’t take advantage of their loss, they can be vultures. Best of luck, it’s nice she thought of a site like this.

Drove one exactly like this camper special Ford 250 390 as a carpenter in the eighties.(my first real job) It was green, it was nowhere near this nice, I beat the crap out of it, I hauled everything in it, ran it low on oil constantly, (it leaked for sure) pulled entirely too much weight with it, would grind gears from time to time, but it would NOT stop running. I miss those days….Nice truck, and I’m not even a Ford guy. I hope someone shows it the same love the previous owner did. RIP

I think this is a great deal and I agree with Howard and hope a flipper doesn’t snatch it up rather than someone who is going to use it like the owners intensions were.

Great truck, and a surprisingly fair price. If it were a stick and a shortbed, I might be Google-mapping Kamiah, Idaho.

Either the styling or the reliability (or both) is keeping these on the road so long.
Today I counted at least 6 being driven and 4 more parked on the streets

I see these come up from time to time on Colorado CL. I see them all the time. Just shows, if rust doesn’t kill them, how long they can last.

I learned to drive in a light blue 1973 Camper Special. I spent a lot of time in that truck growing up.

My condolences to the family. As others have said, a very nice looking truck and very well priced. The perfect truck for a young family, something practical that can be enjoyed and passed down to keep the hobby going.

Nice truck, my dad had one in the 70’s loaded with a “Week Ender” camper on it and a family of 6 for family vacations, great memories of a durable truck.
    RIP Ford Brother
