We aren’t normally that interested in modified Honda’s, but reader Chris O’s Civic Si really is quite interesting! You see, he has known this car during its tenure with its two previous owners and even did some of the work for them. He actually did the wiring for the B18 engine swap way back in 2001, so this Civic was tuned up 17 years ago! This would make for a great Radwood competitor and with 293 wheel horsepower on tap, it would just be fun to zip around town in!
Asking Price: $8,500
Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Mileage: 256K
Title Status: Salvage
VIN: 2HGEH3387NH504437
Seller’s Description: I’m the 4th owner, the only owner I don’t know was the 1st. I worked on this car at the dealer for owner #2. I did the motor swap wiring for the B18C in 2001 for owner #3. Southern car with no rust. I’m sure that I’m forgetting a few parts on the car. It’s very fast, reliable and well sorted out. Tons of new parts, and hard to find JDM parts installed.
Hondata S300 tuned July 2018 by Suja1. 293.8 whp on a Dyno Dynamics dyno @ 12psi Ambient temp was 90-95F, so more power to be had with cooler weather. Plenty of room with the turbo, would need larger fuel injectors to turn the boost up.
The speedometer needle bounces, odometer works normally. I’ve been using the Hondata APP for a speedometer since new speedometers have been discontinued from Honda for years.
The sunroof motor is weak, and the glass needs a hand to open. Since the headliner is perfect I’ve resisted replacing the motor (2nd sunroof motor included)
Take it to Radwood and live it up 90’s style
Body Condition: Owner #2 girlfriend rear ended a truck and Insurance “totalled” the car after a body repair that required a fender, hood and radiator core support. Salvage title was issued in AL. I moved to TN and the car has a TN title.
The Vehicle was professionally repaired with a new core support, bumper and hood.
I’m an ASE Master tech, this car is straight and was repaired correctly.
The car was repainted in R81P Milano Red by Jonathan Goolsby of Goolsby Customs.
It’s no longer the Milano pink that most Honda’s this vintage are.

This would be a fun driver and a great flashback to the ’90s! So will you be taking this Civic Si to Radwood? Our thanks to Chris for listing it with us and if you have a future classic that needs a good home, please consider listing it here on Barn Finds!

Clean hatch, and good luck with the sale.
While this certainly isn’t the usual Barn Finds kind of post, Hondas of this vintage can be ridiculously fun to drive and this one looks to be modified by someone with a plan, and not just a Pep Boys catalog. I can’t even imagine what close to 300whp would be like in something so light, but it sounds like it would be hilarious.
Rice boy cars….. really ?
My riding lawn mower has more horsepower and sex appeal, LOL!
Your mower has over 300hp? Sweet!! Where did you get that from? My mower is on its’ last leg, and with that kind of power on tap I can reduce cut time substantially.
My lawn mower is hopped up on steroids and hooch, and it chews up sticks before they get stuck up people’s butts, LOL!
I think it would be all too funny if the owner of this Honda would strap you on the hood of this car and take it out and run it as hard as he can until you start seeing the white light.
Pretty sure you would quickly have a different opinion in less then an 1/8th of a mile. Better put on a Depends first. You will need them Be sure to change them before you get back on your lawnmower…..talk about sex appeal!!
This is still a popular model in NZ with the imports crowd.
Hondas dominate our head-up Naturally Aspirated All-Motor class at the local drag strip. This is a heads-up class, and the ETs of the quickest machines – all street-legal – would put a lot of V8s to shame (and, remember, I was brought up in an analogue, V8 world).
I’m sure this example would be a kick to drive. All the best with the sale.
Super clean for those miles. Gotta be a blast to drive! Good luck!
The first half of the first sentence is correct.
Stating that the mass do NOT like modified Honda’s shouldn’t speak for everyone.Quit trying to appease everyone over 50. I see this as refreshing. Most do not know what they are looking at anyway but need to wake up.This IS to your grand kids what your model T or 55 Chevy and oh yeah your 455 Hurst Olds were to you.
People complain that the younger generation are not into antique cars or attend old car shows. bla bla bla, Surely no one does anything to welcome them calling their cars rice and by playing 50’s music. Just hearing Muskrat Love on a PA system turns me away too.
This car is a pretty typical build and would be fun to own and not only appreciate in value. It is surprisingly fast and gets good mileage. For those that beat up on it are going to be surprised. They won’t be going away anytime soon.
Diversity is what this site needs. Stop playing to the oldies. Bring on the rice!
Good post!
Not much of a sense of humor AMCFAN? If I heard Muskrat Love at a car show, I would probably leave too.
And again, how is this a barn find?
You should ask for a refund!
Nice car, good luck with the sale.
Beats talking about the weather, I guess….
thnx for the write up/find.
Hot hatch is OK w/this 66 y/o.

Lookin 4 something like this but can’t afford all the add ons 8^(
