This Austin looks like a major project, but these are quite rare here in the States. I’d love to have one of these little classics, but I would be tempted to build it into a lightweight special! The seller has a lot of spare parts for it, but I’m sure there will still be some missing pieces. The body is said to be in solid shape, but has some rust holes. Whether you restore it or build it into a special, it would be a great little project! Find it here on eBay in Amherst, Wisconsin with an opening bid of $2k. So would you restore it or customize it?

The austin 7 is one of the earliest cars to opperate Like cars do today.
Gas pedal on the right, clutch on the left, shift pattern you know.
It’s small enough that right hand drive shouldn’t be a problem.
It looks like a pint sized model A.
If you don’t have far to go speed isn’t a problem.
Heck, if I lived hear in downtown Atlanta where the speeds are under 45 and everything you need is within 10 miles of the Fox theater this would be more fun than a Smart car.

This is a very rare American Austin, from Butler, PA. Restore it to original condition.
You say this little American Austin is quite rare here – well, actually, they’re much rarer anywhere else. Probably more here than anywhere else! Just don’t confuse it with a British Austin – the steering wheel and everything else is on the other side!
But actually we should truly recognize this little runt of a car as being the great-great grandfather of the Hummer and every other 4 x 4 SUV for that matter! Because it was the American Austin company that became American Bantam and Bantam designed the very first prototype Jeep during WWII! It was only because the US Army or Defense Dept didn’t believe that Bantam could build enough in numbers that the contract was given to Willys and then Ford, and that Jeep led to all the other ridiculous behemoths that now clot our highways! It can all be traced back to the little American Austin!
