First-generation Camaros are some of the most popular cars of the late 1960s. While the ’69 is probably on the top of the heap, 67’s like this one hold a special place since they are first-year cars. Although this one looks like quite a big project, it’s getting harder every day to find cars like this. You can find this one for sale here on eBay with a buy-it-now price of $8,500. Currently located in Shirley, New York, you’ll need a trailer to transport this one. If you’ve been looking for a project with a decent return-on-investment, this might be the right one for you.
As you can see the original engine is long gone. There are almost endless possibilities for power plants available for first-gen Camaros. Everything from small-blocks, to monster rat motors or modern modular engines. I’ve always preferred a big block and would have a hard time not dropping in a 454, 502, or 572 in this one. Then again, the modern power that can be made from a fuel-injected LS engine is amazing. What direction would you go if this were your project and money was no object?
You can tell from the interior that this car has been sitting for a long time. The seller does say besides a few spots of rust, the car actually looks pretty solid. If I was thinking about buying this one, I would definitely inspect it in person and lift up as much of the carpet as I could. If it’s been sitting outside for an extended period, there could be hidden issues.
The seller says they have new rear 1/4 skins that go with the sale, so that is a bonus. These cars are heavily supported by the aftermarket, so finding replacement parts (and even some new-old-stock) parts is fairly easy to do. I’m not sure if the seller will get anything close to their asking price, but perhaps someone will want to take on this project.
Another high priced roller that’s an automatic car with tons of rust and a complete restoration needed!! The but it now price is way to high for the amount of work needing to be done!! I have a 396 sitting on an engine stand in my garage waiting for the right car to put it in!! I got it out of a 67 Caprice and rebuilt it but I would not put it in this car!!
I vote that it gets an Iron Duke. Such a nice little engine, and I bet it would be the only one like it at your next Chevy get together. Remember, it was an option (or at least something similar) in Novas, so it should fir nicely.
Sold one 6 years. Ago same shape 1500.
If people are really getting these prices, I need to start listing my old junk for sale.
“Fantastic” would not have been my first choice of adjectives in this case.
I used to live in the rust belt. A co worker had a 67 Camaro as his daily driver in 1978. It looked worse than this pile of crap proving GM built junk. It is called planned obsolence. He told me once and I quote, “My cars look like Junk, but they run good.” People that buy cars like this obviously have money to burn. Money pit.
1967 first gen in last place to buy as overpriced, missing parts and crusty rusty.
I have a 396 402 BB also and this one is not fit for the heart transplant. The pre qualifying questions of not taking care of itsself gets a pass. Err Rust, missing parts, price to repair and labor makes it DOA. 💀
Buy a healthy one for 25-30 and enjoy it 👀👍
How about 450 ponies in sweet condition for 31 grand? If your feeling left out burn five thousand in the drive way fire-pit with s’mores with fiends and still be ahead of the other car price and repair!

Be safe out there folks and wear masks in stores to respect workers safety and families 👍👀
The other was outdated link . How about a original block vert 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS Convertible https://ebay.us/sqsQJR via @eBayConvertible
The word “heap” in the 2nd sentence is inadvertently accurate.
If someone gave you this car it would still be hard not to be upside down once finished. Pass
they are getting hard to find but yea this one is way over priced
More like $850.00! If that
