It has been reported that Ford produced 6,360 Galaxie 500 XL convertibles in 1966 and over 23,000 1964 Fairlane 500 2 doors. This package deal is listed here on craigslist out of St. Louis, Missouri and priced at $5,900.
The ’64 Fairlane 500 is a roller that is set up for big block. It appears that there is no engine included with the car. There is another image of the front of the car with the ad for your review.
This Fairlane, according to John the seller, has a nice solid rust free body.
The ’66 Galaxie 500 XL convertible has a running 390 in the car.
The Galaxie has an automatic transmission running to a 9″ rear-end. The Galaxie in this package needs a complete restoration as per the seller. The original bucket-seats and floor shift are still in the car.
John the seller asks you to call him with any questions you may have. Both cars need lots of work to turn them into drivers again. These projects should be able to keep the next owner/s busy for awhile. Both cars are titled. Are you ready to get two Ford 500s back on the road again?
Motor-on,

These will end up back on the road. Lot’s of potential there.
Too bad the lazy seller didn’t bother to go the full-picture route, these are two very desirable Fords, but he isn’t giving either one its full potential in his brief ad and shoddy photos. My guess is he doesn’t know what he has, and could be talked down substantially. Someone’s gonna get a bargain, but it’s gonna take a while.
I would think someone would save these, but with the condition of the convertible I can’t see coming out ahead that much on their value. With drivers quarter smashed, bad chrome, and all of the interior shot it’s going to get expensive.
Not sure why the seller is aggravating himself by trying to sell these cars as a pair. I guess it’s sort of implied that the 390 is supposed to go in to the Fairlane? If so, then why talk about what work the convertible needs? Otherwise, these two non-related cars would be better sold separately. Also no mention of whether the Fairlane 500 trim is included. The convertible is cool enough by itself, but the price for both is too high; neither one of these cars is worth $2950 by itself.
You might want to watch out for some of the cars listed lately on Craigslist or Ebay for the St Louis Area, with record high flooding over the last few weeks, there is a lot of low areas that flooded and cars under the water!!!
I was just thinking the same thing… Good advice, Mike.
