This 1970 Pontiac LeMans Sport has been in storage for the past 18 years. It is still wearing its original paint and has only covered 72k miles since new. The seller claims that it would be “ready to drive, even interstate” after a fluid change and some new tires. That sounds optimistic to me, but you never know. If that were true though, it seems like it would have been smart to do those things before listing the car for sale. Perhaps the seller was just too lazy to give the car a good cleaning too or maybe this is all an attempt to cover up the flaws? Either way, it would seem that barn dust adds a premium these days. This car make a great GTO alternative, but the current high bid seems high to me. Take a look here on eBay and let us know what you think.

Appears as though this poor Pontiac was forgotten about in a storage facility and once payments stopped, facility is looking to flip, thus the minimal work on it prior to selling. Hard to tell actual miles as car of the era had only 5-digit odometers and once you hit 99,999, they’d flip over – condition seems to bear out claims, only standard battery box rust shows. Nice ride, as a non-GTO, should sell reasonable, definitely worth saving from scrap. Nice find.
I agree could be a owner of a storage facility trying to recoup lost storage money plus some. The Lemans is the same as a GTO with out the performance package. They are nice cars and this one looks to be rust free. The one thing would bother me is if the guy selling it has a clear title to it in his name or someone else’s.
Those are nice cars, much better handling than the mopars of the same period, “wide track Pontiac”! My sister had a ’71 Lemans sport, very cool cars.
Interestingly the seller says it has been in storage for 18 yrs….but the license plate has a 2005 sticker on it….Hmm

your right it does 2005 sticker on the plate. 99% won’t catch that, something sounds fishy, i ould say buyer beware.
Our Mach1 was down for restoration for 5 years and I still kept the plates up to date for 2 reasons, 1.) I had vanity plates and I didn’t want to give them up. 2.) In Missouri if you skip renewing your plates when you finally do they make you pay for back years all at once, at least that is what I was told.
Oklahoma is the same way, plus you get to pay an extra dollar a day for the days it is late, no ifs-ands-or-buts! I have learned this lesson the hard way when buying cars out of peoples fields.
This is one barn find, in my opinion, that the dust is hurting the sale. As a professional detailer and car builder, this car needs to be detailed to the 9’s and it will show very well and I really believe drive much bigger money and create faster demand.
The car sold for $7101.00. Not bad for not having to clean it and making all of the necessary repairs to get it road worthy.
Someone got a real good deal. I am waiting my turn.
