The year is 1994, and Ford has just introduced the all-new “Fox-4” platform to replace the venerable Fox platform. A somewhat radical redesign, the new Mustang is a hit among all types of people just like its predecessors. This particular 1994 Mustang is nothing special, except that it is in exceptional condition for its age having escaped the fate of abuse that so many of its brethren succumbed to! This car only has 67,710 miles on it and has had the same owner for the last 20 years. Find it here on Craigslist in Michigan for $4,150. Thanks to reader Todd for the submission!
The interior is a dead giveaway that this is a low-mileage car. The carpet is normally rough and the seats are either matted or disintegrating by now! None of the interior dye is missing and this could easily pass for a lightly used car being sold in 1998. This Mustang is equipped with power locks, windows, and sun roof and for the price could make a really nice daily for someone who doesn’t like the mundane vehicles being purchased today!
The dash is in the best possible condition one could expect for a car of this vintage, particularly a car that wasn’t exactly made from the highest quality materials available. It even has the original radio! The one thing that always is sure to speak for the condition of a “survivor” vehicle of this era is the presence of the original radio, as it was during this time that replacement with an aftermarket unit became easy and somewhat standardized. I’m certainly not an expert on these things, but it would also appear to have an ignition interlock issued to those who have received an alcohol related driving offense.
Although this Mustang has the Cobra wheels and fender badges, in case you have’t guessed it this is not in fact a real Cobra Mustang. The wheels look nice, but the other Cobra pieces are simply false advertising! The car is listed as a six cylinder, and though no photos are present it is very clear that this is not a Cobra. For this reason, this car will not be a street terror of any variety, but given its excellent condition this could be a fantastic stablemate to someone’s higher powered ’90s Mustang.
I never liked these. so ill take the 67 from earlier
That’s an old school hardwired car phone/cell phone, not an ignition interlock!
Agree. Look like the typical Motorola setup. I wish I could have that in the car now.
Seems like a steal for the reduced price of $3,990! However, is that an aftermarket power moon roof I see?……..sure looks like it to me! If it is, it’s a deal breaker for me!
All aftermarket sunroofs are garbage!
Andrew, are you sure that “ignition interlock” isn’t a cell phone?
those were the days that mustangs got smoked by Camaros. my how times have changed
I never did care for these. Respectable performance but the styling didn’t do it for me, while I thought GM hit a home run with the F body redesign of the same era. And I’m a Ford guy! I do remember before the redesign came out, Ford running several different excersizes past the public; one of them, dubbed the “Schwarzenegger” looked suspiciously like the design that came out after this one, that we are currently enjoying.
This is a nice car, with rwd, and in great condition. Get snows, or park it in October.
I couldn’t believe it when they came out they were actually slower than the previous 5.0 mustangs, especially with the hot running Camaros. But this six cylinder version was better hands down than the previous 4 cylinder. This car here was just a point A to point B driver that had some style, not a street terror like the new 5.0 pretended to be back then.
Looks to be in very good shape for someone who really likes these.
They look like a Toyota celica on steroids
I’d take the Celica.
Nice car, but too much money for a V6 model. Someone would be better off waiting for a slightly later Cobra for a few thousand more.

Here’s my 1994. It’s got just over 100k miles, always garage kept. Black top, I have original pony wheels in storage. Interior is excellent, too.
Our 95 had a 5.0 and it was no slouch. The featured car would make a nice daily driver for a teenager.
Been a mustang guy for 50+ years and was working at Ford when these came out, I was so disappointed! Horrible design, ugly lines. Just looked like it was 800 lbs overweight sitting still. I knew right then that the old fox body platform would become a classic. Ford made up for it with the new retro mustang.
This is a clean, well cared for example, though. Good starter car for a grad!
I had a ’95 like this, only a 5 speed,it was really a nice car. My previous car was an ’88 5.0 LX, and while the ’88 was much faster, but unpredictable, the ’95 was a cruiser. Had everything the ’88 didn’t. Comfy interior, better brakes, handled better (wasn’t so front heavy) Sadly the V6 began using coolant, and I sold it. It was probably the nicest car I had.
Those six cylinder cars were notorious for blowing head gaskets and warping heads. Usually way before 100K miles
Thanks for the info on the ignition interlock/mobile phone situation! I was having a hard time telling from the photos, and like I said I am not an expert!
I had a Pacific green ’98 convertible, V-6. Not totally gutless as the torque was pretty healthy. It handled adequately. They were cheap, overstyled, throwaway cars. I loved mine & kept it for 10 years.
There are only 2 kinds of people in the world – those who drive Mustangs and those who wish they drove a Mustang.
One thing to slap Cobra badges on a GT but almost sad to do same to V6. Cannot wrap head around the psychological process involved with that.
Just bought my first Mustang. Being a Chevy guy for most of my young adult life the only Mustang I ever would have thought of having was the 70’s Mach 1 version. Never happened and life as usual went on. Fast forward to today and I find myself thinking “this car is pretty cool looking”. Sign of getting old?? Nahh!!!!! I only paid $50 for it!! Hahaha!! I think most anyone would think this was a cool car for that price! Actually, I traded a riding lawn mower (John Deer) that I bought last summer for $50. Somehow even better. Now I just have to figure out how to mow the yard with it!!
