The 1964 Pontiac GTO is considered by many to be the first muscle car. It infused an otherwise boring mid-size car with high performance. The GTO was a hit when it was new and continues to be so today. Enthusiasts will go to great lengths to get their mitts on one, even bringing complete basketcases back to life. With its Pine Hurst green exterior and black interior this one would have looked great new. The 389 V8 and 4-speed transmission would have kept things exciting too. Now, it’s a wreck though. That Florida humidity has worked its magic on the metal and the drivetrain has gone missing. So, this former beauty’s fate all comes down to how badly someone wants a GTO. Find it here on eBay where the seller is asking $2,385 or best offer!

The tin worms have been munching on this one. It may be too far gone.
Geez, and I thought my Lancia was rusty!!
While it’s way beyond my capability to fix, it seems like people have rescued worse cars than this and price is not outrageous. I have always loved the color green on GTOs. Hope someone can save it.
I think about $2K is right for the chassis number. Find a ’64 Tempest and make your own GTO.
you can get just about all the parts you need for a Goat.
If you have the $$ this can be brought back to life.
I would at least look at it for that kind of money. Maybe try to make a package deal for both of them. But alas they are too far away. Really prefer the stacked headlights on the 65-67’s if I wanted a first gen got again.
