In The Barn Since ’65: 1929 Ford Model A

left

I’m not a big fan of the patina fad, but I love this picture of this old Ford with the remains of a truck and other rusty old bits in the background. It’s located near Fort Collins, Colorado and was sitting in a barn since 1965. It’s now listed on eBay for $4,500. As you can see in the picture, there’s no rust in the floors, but that’s because there are no floors! It’s very original and almost complete except for the floors and other odd bits, of course. Most old cars like Model As aren’t worth much these days. Even restored, this would be worth $15K or less. I do hope though that someone will buy and restore it to some degree, but it’s perhaps more likely to become some flavor of street rod.

I have driven a couple of Model A’s in rally’s, a 400 and a truck version. I really enjoyed the 400, but I am to big for the truck, I will mention that both of these were immaculate and the 400 was a Hershey show winner so they weren’t slouches.
They are fun to drive, getting the gears to shift smooth, adjusting the timing and fuel on the fly, you are fully involved if not moving at great speed. Unfortunately they are not worth a lot, but on the plus side they are easy to work on and parts are available. This one I fear is over priced, and I hate to see it turned into yet another hotrod.

Fun car but Way overpriced for the state of disarray. $2,500.00 would be more like it.

Um, uuuhhh, will somebody explain what “NO RUST” in this ad means? I know I am missing a couple of cogs in the old gear upstairs, but I’m not sure that maybe, just maybe, I have broken a few more than I thought I had!?!?!?
And, it is sold! Although it does say “best price accepted”. Would love to know what the “best price” is for a “”RUST FREE” vehicle of this vintage?!?!?
Lordy me! Somebody help me out!?!?
