Italian Barn Finds and Ferraris Galore

Concorso Italiano Barn Find Class

We recommend that every car guy attend the Concorso Italiano sometime in their life time. Even if you are not into Italian automobiles, you are sure to find something that will interest you. This year the Concorso featured a barn find class and we will be bringing you details on the top entrants.

Jay Leno At Concorso Italiano

Even if you do not find something that interests you at this show, you can still be fun watching the crowds swarm around Jay Leno when he shows up. We weren’t going to do it, but we even snuck a photo with everyone’s favorite car guy. He is a nice guy to take photos with anyone that wanted one, but it had to make it hard to look at any cars.

Concorso Italiano Ferraris

It felt strange to see so many Ferraris all at once. Normally it is exciting to see a Ferrari because it is something most of us don’t see everyday so it sort of felt like we were at a local car show passing the countless Mustangs on display. Don’t get us wrong, this was an amazing experience and there were many unbelievable vehicles on display. We will slowly be featuring our favorites from the event over the coming days.

In the top photo, right to left it looks like a Miura, a silver GTB, a red 250GT 2+2. What’s the black car on the left?

There is nothing like Monterey in August. Automotive overload.

Roamic, I’m pretty sure that the black car is the Petersen Museum’s barcetta. I think it’s a 52 or 53. Formerly one of Mr. Petersen’s personal vehicles.

Roamic- The black car on the left is the 1952 Ferrari Barchetta that was given to Henry Ford II by Enzo Ferrari before their famous parting of the ways. The car is almost entirely original and lives at the Petersen Automotive Museum where it is occasionally on display.
