I’ll admit it, I’m a huge fan of fun little Italian sports cars. Yes, I know it would be cooler to have found a Miura in this barn, but in terms of an Italian barn find that you can actually afford to buy, restore and then drive everyday, this Lancia is a much better choice! The Fulvia is a great little car. It won’t get you places as fast as a Lamborghini, but it will get you there in style and with a smile on your face. This example has been in storage for the past 28 years in a barn in Sweden, but it’s time for it to see daylight again! Find it here on eBay in Borås, Sweden with a BIN of $6k and the option to make an offer.

This 1.3S made quite the journey from Italy to Borås, Sweden, over to South Germany and back to Sweden. No word is given as to why it was parked, but it belonged to the seller’s friend. Hopefully they can give us more information about the car’s history. It would also be great to know exactly why it was parked in this barn.

Other than being quite dusty and dirty, it looks to be in good shape. The seller admits that they had rust repaired in the floors before parking it and that there might be more repairs needed now. They also state that there was “steam in the exhaust” and that it might need a head gasket. If the engine isn’t seized or seriously damaged, replacing the head gasket shouldn’t be a huge task. Cleaned up, with the engine running, and the brakes sorted, this would be one fun little driver!

I really wish this Lancia was on our shores, it sure would look great parked next to my Fiat 124 Spider! For now I’ll just have to look at it and dream. I’m just glad it’s finally being given a second chance at life and hope someone will get it back on the road quick. So if you’ve been hunting for a Fulvia project, this one could be a great project. Oh and just so you know, the seller is throwing in the dirt on the car free of charge!

I agree, a blown head gasket is no big deal. However, a cracked head is a bigger deal and a cracked block could be a deal breaking big deal.

The parts value is probably worth more than the asking, but I doubt it will be parted out. The underside looks like 4+ decades of normal use and storage, but not bad, and the engine bay and trunk/trunk surround look good, with no visible rust—a very good sign.

List it on the Italian Ebay site and I’ll bet it will sell quickly. Or clean it up, get it running, and show it at any concours Italiano with a discrete For Sale sign and it won’t go unsold for long.

The Fulvia is one of those cars that I really like and am always on the lookout for. I’m sad that this one is in the EU.

A Fulvia was written up in a recent edition of Hemmings “Sports and Exotic Car” magazine.
