It’s Honest Truck Time Again!

d1

This 1967 Chevrolet C10 long bed pickup looks like it’s been a working truck it’s entire life. I’m thinking it’s got some good time left, though, and the seller thinks so too. It’s available here on eBay, with a buy it now of $2,125 and bidding starting at $1,200. The truck is located in Huntington, West Virginia.

While the truck is a little bit beat up around the edges, as you can see it’s still very usable. I don’t think I would be painting this one; just enjoying it’s utility. Black rims and white center caps just add to the work truck appearance.

No, I have no idea who Zeke was, and any traces of any illicit hauling that has been previously done, well, that will be between you and your own local authorities I guess!

I could see this every day outside my house–what about you?

Pointed directly at you in the interior pic (which wasn’t in eBay when I wrote up the truck) :-)

I was raised in Huntington till I was 13 and made many trips there after leaving so, I know the town well. It’s only 3.5 hours away. I have the cash. I like the color and the drive line. I could use the truck. It seems like a fair deal. So why am I not on my way there? I dunno.
This is one I’ll be sorry I passed up.

Bought this same truck in 1980 for $50 off a neighbor. The straight six and three speed (mine moved to the floor), it sounded like an old school bus. Tough truck, with the coil springs and long trailing arms in back you could haul loads where the springs would compress and the trailer hitch would dig into the pavement but it never broke. I have a photo of me trying to pull down a damaged oak tree after hurricane Gloria in ’85. With a long chain and a running start it came down after a fight. A buddy snapped a picture of the tree recoiling after a pull and the back end of the truck about 6 feet off the ground. Afterwards I drove that thing home like nothing happened (actually for another 6 yrs). I wonder what would happen if I did that with a new truck.

Rear suspension is a little weird in these — but I believe the small rear window (early?) is more desireable…

Small rear window was standard through 1967, large back window became standard on small trucks in 68 due to federal legislation. But, the large back window was optional from the early 60’s, known as the panoramic rear glass option A10. Although not exactly rare, it’s not seen near as often.

Right. 1967 is the first year of this generation I believe. So it was a one year only/ carry over rear window. I do not know if the large/panoramic window was optional on the first year of this gen. Thought it wasn’t.

Well I was wrong. However I believe the small windows are desired more? LOL :-)

The large panoramic window was an option for ’67. When my wife was little, her dad had a red and white ’67 with the big window and a short bed with the 283/auto drivetrain.

The ’67 with the small window is one of my favorite trucks and on my bucket list. This truck checks a lot of boxes for me but unfortunately (maybe fortunately?), I’m in Texas so this truck is too far for me. In Texas, a truck like this would probably be twice the Buy It Now price.

67-68 slant noses at my favorite years in this generation of truck, & this is one of the best colors. The coil spring & trailing arm rear suspension makes for a great riding truck. This one was scant on options, radio & lighter delete, no arm rest, painted bumper & no molding. Probably ordered for dealer stock. I have a 68 GMC this color, except with a white top.

Back in the day my home town got flooded with trucks just like this one. Blue, green and a very sickly yellow. Mostly 250 6cyl./3 sped. manual with the odd 283/auto or 4 spd. I wouldn’t be surprised if half of them are still around. My ’47 Ford pickup was traded in for an identical twin to this one. It’s interesting to note that the Chevy truck still exists and so does my ’47.

I purchased the truck, not sure if it’s a keeper or not, if interested, let me know, might sell it for the right price. 814-386-1665.
