Square-body Chevrolet pickups have become some of the most recognizable and sought-after trucks of the past few decades, and examples like this 1983 Chevrolet C10 Silverado help explain why. Offered here on eBay with just 32,850 documented miles, this truck stands out as a genuine survivor that appears to have avoided the heavy use, modification, and hard labor most C10s were subjected to over the years.

According to the listing, this Silverado shows mileage that is supported by documentation and history, and the overall condition seems consistent with a truck that simply wasn’t driven much. It’s powered by the factory 305 cubic-inch V8 paired with an automatic transmission, a combination that defined many early-1980s Chevrolet half-tons. The drivetrain is described as smooth and original in character, making this truck more about preservation and drivability than performance upgrades or modern conversions.

The Silverado trim level brought a higher level of comfort compared to base C10s, and this truck reflects that. Equipment includes power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, tilt steering, cruise control, and an AM/FM radio. These features made the C10 just as capable of long highway trips as it was everyday errands, and they still add to its appeal today. The seller notes that the air conditioning blows cold, which is a meaningful detail for anyone who plans to actually drive and enjoy the truck rather than simply display it.

This C10 spent its life in Kentucky and Indiana, and the underside reportedly reflects careful use rather than exposure to harsh conditions. A rubber bed mat has been added, allowing the bed to be protected while still remaining usable, which fits well with the idea of a preserved but practical pickup. Trucks like this often walk a fine line between collector piece and usable classic, and this one seems to land comfortably in both categories.

What makes low-mile square bodies especially appealing is their originality. Many surviving C10s have been lifted, lowered, repainted, LS-swapped, or otherwise reworked. While those builds have their place, untouched trucks like this offer a reference point for how these pickups actually left the factory. They also give future owners the freedom to either preserve that originality or make changes knowing they started with a solid, honest example.

For someone looking for a square-body Chevrolet that hasn’t been heavily altered and still carries the feel of the early 1980s, this Silverado checks a lot of boxes. Trucks like this are becoming harder to find as time passes, especially with mileage this low.

Would you keep this C10 exactly as it is, or would you be tempted to put your own stamp on such a clean survivor?

Nice clean unmolested truck here. Leave it be and no modifications here. No LS swaps or anything like that even though some people cannot stop with modifications
Nice old Silverado, love the fact it is unmodified. I bought a 67K mile 1978 Silverado 350 half ton like this truck back in 1990. What a pleasure to drive. This beauty can be driven and enjoyed, and I hope it stays STOCK.
I just bid this up to a more reasonable value so it doesn’t have to suffer the shame of being disrespected.
The VIN designates it as an 84. These are nice trucks, but these 1/2 tons have a very limited payload rating. I bought a new GMC in 84 and went with the C6P because these only had a 700lb cargo rating! This is a nice example that seems fairly priced, considering what some of these are bringing.
