Low Mileage Luxury: 1992 Cadillac Seville

This fine ride rolling into town will let everyone know you have arrived. The car of choice for the most respected characters in the HBO series “The Sopranos”. And quite possibly, the most gorgeous generation of Seville. Designed to compete with Europe’s biggest brands while retaining the classical style of America’s brand of dollars on wheels. This gorgeous 1992 Cadillac Seville is currently for sale on Craigslist in Chicago, Illinois for $4,750.

According to the post, this is a one-owner with all the service records. Documented 45,000 miles, never smoked in and always garaged kept. Backed by “like buying a brand new car”, this Seville is certainly in pristine condition. Plush red leather interior, and beautiful pearl white exterior sporting the “Gold Package”.

Sport-inspired seating opposed to a more traditional bench seat. Well designed center console with European style shifter. The edge of a sports car with the luxury of a limousine makes this an ultimate American sedan.

Powered by a 4.9 liter V8, where classic styling meets modern power. This Seville certainly performs as if new off the assembly line!  Any glance at this Cadillac is like a step back in time… walk into a dealership, eager to buy a new Seville. Well, are you going to take delivery?

The Northstar not navistar came out in 93…the 4.9 is basically bulletproof…save for torque converter sensors….northstar had head issues….this is the one to get….

For future reference the STS was a Seville Touring Sedan while the SLS was the Seville Luxury Sedan.

They also had the ETC which was the Eldorado Touring Coupe.

This car is not the sporty model, which was the STS.

My north star went 300,000 still ran like a striped ape.but the body didn’t hold up too well to the snow plow that ran a stop sign, hit it in the front spun it around and nailed it again in the rear.biggest problem is that the sensors go bad.that is frustrating

Shame about the top as this is a gorgeous body, the red interior, plus the gold emblems and the top tell me that the original owner was between 70 and dead when they bought this car.

The ETC (Eldorado) from this era, is my preferred body style…the roofline and profile on it are beautiful. The STS is definitely a strong looker, and the Northstar seems to be a solid performer…my father owned one for a couple of years, and I believe a leaking coolant sensor was the only issue he encountered.

Canuck, I always like the full length CHMSL on the Seville over the rear of the Eldorado, but that is just my opinion.

There’s something comical about driving a big barge with a torque-y transverse-mounted engine driving the front wheels. That said, while the RWD offerings of the time are more dignified, my uncle had a couple of FWD Caddies including a Seville from this era, and they were incredibly comfortable. It is indeed too bad about the vinyl roof; the wedge shape and huge greenhouse is pretty successful in my opinion as a design exercise, even if it looks dated now.

I think Navistar was a name used by big International Harvester trucks/

As a Caddy guy, you had me at Seville. You lost me at the faux carriage roof, and gold emblems [dear god what were they thinking???]

I never understood the affection for the styling of this era Seville.

    Anonymous, generic.

They always looked like a supersize Corsica 5 door in much the same way as the downsized Eldorado looked like an N Body Calais.

Only someone in need of corrective lenses would confuse a Seville with a Corsica.

I own 2 of these, a flame red over black ‘93 STS and an ultra rare white on white 93 base model with the 4.9L and 53k one owner miles. Thankfully neither were subjected to the cruelty of an aftermarket roof treatment.

This car is gorgeous! Both the ’92 and ’93 Sevilles and Eldorado with the 4.9 Liter engines are the ones to collect. This is in beautiful condition and a most comfortable Cadillac. I always preferred the “base” Sevilles over the STS models, as a Cadillac enthusiast.

I also like the standard Seville more, I think the chrome brightwork really accentuates the great lines this car has and the block letter “SEVILLE” nameplate on the trunk lid is perfectly spaced out and very classy looking.

I wonder what it would cost to remove the top and have it painted the body color.
