No Reserve 1969 Pontiac Le Mans Barn Find

If I was a car buyer in 1969, it would have been hard to decide if I wanted a Ram Air IV Trans Am, Camaro Z28, Hemi Charger or Boss 429. Someone bought this 1969 Pontiac LeMans and the seller states that it is an original 60k mile car with matching numbers. The car is located in Fort Wayne Indiana and is listed for auction here on eBay. The  LeMans has been bid to $8,000 with 3 days remaining in the auction.

Under the hood of the LeMans is a Pontiac 350 cubic inch V8 engine. This was the second year for the 350 cubic inch engine which was factory rated at 265 gross horsepower when equipped with its original 2 barrel carburetor. The 4 barrel equipped engine was rated at 330 gross horsepower. The car has power brakes and power steering and its drive line is said to be original. The engine is backed by an automatic transmission that is controlled by a floor mounted shifter. The car is said to run and drive. Originally, the LeMans was green but at some point, someone painted the exterior green and left the interior mostly original.

The black interior looks a little dusty but the dash bad appears solid and the seats are not too bad. The console features a simulated wood decal and the console lid is cracked and showing the foam underneath. The car still has its factory steering wheel but needs carpet.

The LeMans appears to be sitting at a used car lot and the seller is a dealer. The glass looks good and the car sits on old aftermarket tires and chrome rims. We used to call these rims “Flower Mags” but I think they are a version made by Crager in the 1970’s. This car represents the third generation of the LeMans built from 1968 to 1972. The LeMans name plate was used by Pontiac from 1961 to 1994 with a hiatus between 1981 and 1988.

    My wife’s first car when we were married. 1969 LeMans, 350, 2V, auto, red with a white leather interior. It was in way better condition than this one. She bought it for $350.00 in 1983. If only we still had that one.

      Same here – my wife’s 1st car when we were married. Green with white interior. She drove the piss out of the thing. She used to scare the hell out of me getting on the freeway. It was way different than the Plymouth she previously drove!

    Mags are Keystone Klassics.
    There’s also another American racing wheel that are called dasies

    Ha pailG beat me to it Definitely Keystone classics which were popular but never my liking I always liked crashes, black torque thrusts magnum 500 Chrysler rallies or corvette rally wheels for my rides depending on the brand I was driving not a bad little LeMans for the price would be a good starting point

    Your absolutely right Bruce, a ’69 T/A, Z-28 or RA IV Judge if only I was born in ’50 & not ’60 like my brother. He got to enjoy 1st, a ’57 Nomad in ’67, a ’66 GTO in ’68 in time for the prom & a ’69 Judge in ’70.

    Very interesting idea for someone my age(55), what would I have bought in 1969…my favorite year of muscle mania, a stand out year.
    There is almost too many to make a solid 1 or even 2 choice, brand loyalty would play into it no doubt which I only slightly favor Ford. Cobra jet powered Torino, non- judge decaled GTO with the RAIV, or the car very few people knew about then the COPO 427 Chevelle or pony car screamer 427 Camaro…I mean if I’m after out right strip terror then its got to be full on. Not great daily’s though and if it was a versatile street/strip/reliable car I just dont know, the best deal maybe? Neat old Le Mans cruiser and didnt know the 350-4 was rated at 330 hp.

      No doubt Troy, if ‘full on’ & money no object then would have to boost up & go with a ’69 Yenko Camaro/Chevelle or a Motion Phase III.

    My first car was a 1969 LeMans. Bright yellow with a white top and white interior. Unfortunately, it had the gutless package; 250 ci straight six, one barrel carburetor and a 2 speed automatic. All show and no go. I sold it to a friend who’s family owned and operated collision repairs shops. He dropped a 350 in it. I often wonder where it is now.
