Not A Barn Find: 1955 Ford Thunderbird

1955 Thunderbird

The seller of this T-Bird makes it clear in their listing that this is not a barn find! I’m not sure why. It’s old, dirty, and potentially cheap. Sure, it’s a project, but that shouldn’t exclude it from being here. Whatever the reason, this looks like a good project for an ambitious T-Bird fan. The seller purchased it in 1964 and parked it in 1967. They put oil in the cylinders before putting it to sleep so they think it should run again without too much effort. The only mistake they made was ripping off the rear quarter during a repair attempt. It’s located in Charleroi, Pennsylvania and is listed here on eBay where bidding is just over $4k with the reserve not yet met. Just remember, it’s not a barn find!

My guess is not a barn find because if you knew where it was the whole time… It can’t be a find. Also, the building doesn’t look like a barn. LOL

It looks bad but, I think, if you had the talent and, if you got it a a fair price, you could bring it back to it’s former glory.

    Cool little car.

It looks like a barn find, probably smells like a barn find and doesn’t run just like a barn find, but it’s not a barn find……

It’s a project that has been put on the extreme backburner in 1967. Wow, that’s a long time ago…….

Would have to see a lot more of this one before I jumped. Cost of rebuild is probably close to to what a good driver could be bought for.

I love the 1st year birds, especially in black. This one would be very expensive to retore though. Better off with one of the many that weren’t wrecked and put away 40 years ago.

      Eh, fuzzy math.
Not just 40, only 1 short of 50!

Probably listed as ‘not a barn find’ so that when someone searches for a ‘barn find’ on Ebay the car will come up from that search.

Just get it running and drive it the way it is.

Oh my! So much rust for a car only 10 years old when parked. Typical rust belt corrosion, but then you have to wonder if taking the skin off actually helped or hindered the next owner. I don’t think this is a “drive it while you restore it” kind of quick project.
