Now Rust Free: 1969 Camaro

'69 Camaro hood

This Camaro, according to the seller, was a rust bucket. His team took the entire car apart, removed the rust and they have reached this point. This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro project is listed here on eBay and is on stands in Hawthorne, Califorina with a current bid of $1,500.

'69 Camaro rear

The seller claims there is zero rust on this car, but there’s also no paint on the car. There are new control arms, leaf springs, radiator core support, body mounts, and new bolts.

'69 Camaro floor pans

The entire floor and truck pans are new as well. The work looks to have been done correctly. There will still be a lot of work to even get it ready for paint.

'69 Camaro right side

The owner has documented this project with before and after pictures.  The will be no surprises with this car, or so says the owner. There is no mention of an engine or drivetrain, so what would you drop in and how would you finish this one off?  The car is being put together now. If you have any questions please contact the owner.  What do you think the reserve is?  A lot of the heavy-lifting has been done, but there is still so much more to do in order to hit the road again.

Motor-on,
Robert

I really have no idea what this guy is selling….Maybe a bare rolling chassis? Does it have glass, trim, interior? Assuming no drive train. Really a vague listing.

The ad doesn’t mention a vin tag or papers.

I assume you must bring your own body dolly with you to transport.

Many won’t like hearing this but all I think about when I see a Camaro is pro touring.

Seeing the car like this sure is confidence building!

This could be just the ticket for someone with a ’69 sitting in the garage with nice interior and drivetrain but lots of rust.

Could this be the long-lost DeLorean prototype??

There is a ton of work that needs to be done on this car, even though it looks to be a good shell.. Welds must be dressed and prepared, body seams sealed, sheetmetal primed, on and on… It will be nice when finished, but be prepared for long term duty with this one..

Well, must be a revelation for all those who get their panties in a wad over rust, or suspected rust. No surprises here, This is a nice project for someone. Dealing with a tore apart car is kinda a pain, but a Illustrated parts break down, and a Fisher body manual and Bobs your uncle, This would be an easy project. EVERY single part on this car is availible from multiple vendors, interior, body, drivetrain, nice!

I was expecting someone else to raise this question, but no one did so I will. Why is he selling this car at this stage of restoration? I have my own thoughts. No doubt you all do too. Odd. Also, this car should have been primed awhile ago. By the time someone buys and transports, it’ll need to be blasted again.
