One-Owner Truck: 1982 Dodge Ram 150 Royal

While Ram Trucks are now a brand of their own, this wasn’t always the case – the Dodge Ram was the successor to the D-Series trucks, and it was the company’s full-size pickup model for decades. The original owner of this first-generation 1982 Dodge Ram 150 Royal offers it for sale here on Craigslist, and it’s a nice driver-quality example of a classic Ram.

This truck is available in Castro Valley, California with a clean title. Until very recently, this Ram was a daily driver for the seller, but the seller is letting it go so they can free up some cash.

The exterior has some noticeable blemishes, but it’s also clear that despite being used for its intended purpose, this truck was well taken care of and not abused. It also benefits from an option package that adds various chrome elements, including wheels, exterior trim, mirrors, and more. In my opinion, the chrome splits up the white and maroon exterior colors very nicely.

Inside the cabin, you’ll find a well kept and all-original interior that is a close match to the maroon exterior color. All of the electronics function without issue, and this truck features an AM/FM radio, cruise control, power steering, and more.

There’s a V8 engine under the hood, which pairs to an automatic transmission to drive the rear wheels. The drivetrain has 71,859 miles on it and the truck runs and drives without issue. Additionally, the seller claims they serviced the vehicle every 3,000-5,000 miles, with the truck receiving overhauls of both the brake and suspension system, and also other items such as radiator hoses, water pump, thermostat, starter and more.

The asking price for this truck is $6,500. Would you bring this driver-quality truck home from sunny California?

Dodge made the D-Series pickup from 1972 to 1993. While this is a nice pickup and probably worth the ask, I was never too fond of them. The body style looked very dated especially the last decade or so. Still, I suppose that’s the whole point of owning an older vehicle; dated is what’s appealing now.

I live in the area. Trucks from this era in this condition are a common sight. It’s overpriced for a long bed, but he seems willing to deal.

I’d make sure the title is in the sellers name.

I had an 87 mine was grey and silver same option package. Mine had the chrome bumpers and wheels, a/c, cruise and same chrome trim. It was in very good condition and had a matching topper. I bought from a customer that had the truck serviced where I worked and I payed $3k for it. I still don’t know why I sold it, to hard on gas I think. It’s one of those sales where you wish you didn’t do it. I hope this one goes to a new owner that will take care of it.

why wouldn’t the title be in the original owner’s name? and it may be overpriced on the West Coast, but it would go for more back here in the rust belt. And why people feel the need to respond about a vehicle they don’t like is beyond me. Just scroll past.

Nice truck. Makes me wish I still had my 1986 Ramcharger. Never really cared for the look of the 94 and later Ram trucks.

        Hi WH
I want to keep it as original as I can for a while, if things start to play up on it then I might do extractors and exhaust and maybe EFI but keep it looking as it is I really like it’s look, thank you.
